Not if I've only had a piss and there's someone sleeping in the flat.

Otherwise yes (AFTER putting the book down, of course  )

I do, of course.

But my parents-in-law do not between 10 PM and 6.30 AM. It seems that they only piss at night. What a joy to tear the silence of night with the sound of a generous flush !!! I always press the "get rid of the big bog" button. I must be a pervert.

Then, I have a lack of vocabulary. What is the name of the kind of plastic plate you open and close on the "trone". I cannot stand the fact that they leave it opened !!! Just like my mother says, "this is not a piece of exhibition" !!!

A picture is always better :

If you leave the upper one closed, then your toilet is useless, right ? And I do not like when people leave it opened... like my parents-in-law to take an example...

For hygiene reasons after using the toilet both seat and lid should be closed. They recommend it when you are selling your house too, nobody wants to look in your toilet.

Unless they're some sort of pervert.

I shared a flat with a nurse years ago.

After a couple of really gory stories about her work and a couple of bad rows about me leaving the seat up we came to an arrangement.

I'm still pretty good at remembering to put it down.

so now, not only am I not proper, but according to this, I'm not a man either???

I grew up in a house full of females...so I always leave it DOWN...

of course, why women aren't SMART enough to look before they sit is beyond me...

Cos they're just a bunch of lazy, self-centred bitches, constantly on the lookout for ways to give blokes a hard time?

Is that what you were thinking?

Cause their way is ALWAYS the right way!

But I keep it down, for my wife and because it looks better down.

Actually, I keep nagging my wife to put the lid DOWN (she likes the seat down, but not the lid). personally, i think it looks better closed, & rats will have more difficulty getting out:eek:

I prefer the lid to be left up. That way you can see that the toilet is clean. Leaving it down implies that there's something to hide.

I have a transparent lid, nothing to hide.
