While I was walking through the kitchen half-asleep this morning, my grandma had the TV on QVC and some lady who really sounded older than dirt asked if she could give a "shout-out" to one of her equally ancient pals.

Also, a double negative, like when someone says, "He didn't do nothing," when someone really means, "He didn't do anything." I hear it all the damn time in Philly, even from "educated" people.
I too hated this for such a long time until recently I started learning Italian and in Italian you really do say excatly that! You would use a double negative, like you would say non andiamo (none of us) mai a ballare (never go dancing). So now I am more forgiving, I realise that it makes perfect sense to some people to construct their sentences like that.
I also like wrong tense (He come over last night and drunk all me beer) but mostly I just like being a word snob. I enjoy correcting spelling and grammar so much I spent five years of my life doing it as my job.

Unfortunately there are so many english people muttering 'Americanisms' ,you do actually forget that we invented the bloody language.
And they dont even get their bleedin dates right!
