I've met Mick Jones at a B.A.D. gig and he was happy to have a natter in a tiny venue in Leeds. Not bothered what they wrote about him with the Clash break up.Absolutely lovely fella with us.

you know I was cussed at for saying that the Slits sounded like shit. Because watching that video of them in 1977- they did sound bad. I'm sure they got better as time went along,they were just starting out apparently in that one. I like some structure damn it, not total chaos out of synch...

being one of the first all female bands I don't think so, maybe to play an instrument, but if you look back in the 50's and shit there were girl bands and some of them did play instruments,solo too....one of the FIRST all girl bands to play punk maybe...hell i don't know, it just seems weird....i hear women yapping about how its a man's world in music-get tired of hearing it...just shut up and play, there's nothing to prove....anymore.

Coincidence. I watch their movie, Westway To the World and have been reading The Real Story of the Clash. I like them but I found myself uncapable to listen to their early songs from the 77-78 punk arsenal like I used to 12 years ago.

I know, Tabs. I know... but I need to save my money! I'm not broke, but I made a promise to myself to not buy so many CDs like what I did last year. Maybe when the semester is over, I will get some Clash CDs...

I will be more than happy to burn off a playlist of some of Strummer and Co.'s best and send it your way, to save you some cash on that front. Give me a couple of weeks, though.

Nah it's the style is a bit patchy. The content is precious but the writer is not that great.

Well, I did say it was a list of my favorite Clash tunes... :skeptic:

Brixton won't fit, now that I think about it, because it would be at the end after London Calling (and as I haven't mastered the "insert between two other songs" capacity of Windows Media Player's playlist function and don't feel like doing another playlist at least tonight...) :shrug:

Also...I don't have Straight to Hell :nervous:

From Here To Eternity Live = class live album. I'd rather listen to some of the songs on this rather than on record, like Complete Control, White Man, Magnificent Seven and Armagideon Time :bow:
