i'm surprised i got to november to be honest
next door had their lights up in the middle of september ![]()
the best one is the house in Denton, on Windmill Lane. Decorations up every year on 1st November. Side of the house there is this massive electrical santa. Its really quite extreme. God knows what his electricity bill is like.
Well there is a family in the neighborhood who never takes down their Christmas lights....do I win £40 ?

I'm surprised too since all the department stores seem to put the Christmas stuff in early September... 'round here anyway.
When in Japan (which doesn't really celebrate the religious aspects of Christmas; just the decorations, being with family, giving presents etc aspect), you see Christmas decorations in shops, and when Christmas songs are played in shops.
I know that's an obvious one, but that's what I think.

Christmas lights where stupidly expensive over there. Have they gotten any cheaper so people can actually afford them?

Wouldn't it be fun to put sparklers on the menorah instead? A little razzle-dazzle would be good. Or use those relighting candles so you can't blow them out.

I heard that bloody Do They Know Its Christmas song in a shop 3 weeks ago! I had to leave the shop....it was only October!
I don't think I can be bothered with christmas this year....I kind of want to buy decorations cause its the first christmas I have my own place. But the sensible side of me says they money will be better spent on booze (lots of alco = a better xmas!)

You know it's Christmas when those Marks and Spencers adverts start up. "It's not just a mince pie. It was made with freshly ground skin from the baker who slaved over it. It's not just a mince pie. It's come all the way from Scandinavia. It's not just M&S food, it's got hints of LSD in to bring out the taste, et.c"

No, wait, I mean a piece for Christmas :violent2:
when all the adds are preceded w/ shop now! for best selection.
when, in the shops, the ends of each aisle are stacked with Import German Xmas cookies and liquored chocolates.
When you have to be careful not to knock the said stacks of biscuits and glass bottled' sparklin water over with your handbasket as you round the corner. ala Bambi w/ skates on.
when the City lights really are 70 percent coloured Christmas lights. LED of course. and the air gets raw cold.

Wouldn't have minded Black Friday so much when I stopped in to quickly pick up some CD and DVD-Rs at the Circuit City on my Friday route. Lines weren't too bad, only six people in front of me at the one I choose (at 11 a.m. mind you); would've been nice if they'd hired some people who had previous operation experience with the cash registers though; waited 30 minutes just for that ![]()
