Bands due a revival or two :drummer:

It seems like a lot of bands go through cycles of neglect and obscurity before being "discovered" by the offspring from the first generation of fans having illicit sex at the gigs , and we've seen that with JD/NO, The Doors, Velvet Underground, etc. (especially when the old bands reunite for "greatest hits" tours that serve only to line the coffers of the surviving heroin junkies on the payroll). But more often than not, it's nice to see a band that came and went leaving what seemed to be little other than sound and fury suddenly being admired again (like NO over the past five years)

So what bands or artists do you feel deserve a revival of interest? Can be from any time since the age of rock began, but I'm going to stick with a Eighties fave:

Squeeze - their 78-82 run contributed some great singles to the world of pop songwriting and almost survived the "new Lennon/McCartney" tagline. The band has long since broken up (so no danger of a dodgy "new" album), but it would be nice to see some sort of appreciation on a wide scale.

Anyway, Difford and Tillbrook et al., get my vote

Public Enemy's show 6 weeks ago was scheduled originally for the Barrowlands but had to be moved to the Academy due to it selling out within a day. They tour every other year and still sell out 3K plus venues. Don't really see why they would be in need of a revival. They've never gone away.

New Order, must be a week since they did anything.

Wire... peers of JD/NO... hella talented band that has never gotten their due except from critics. They have had TWO revivals, including new music 25 years after their start that sounds like half their ages. Wire deserves some respect, put them on some soundtracks or something, at least, time for people to start to leech off of Wire's coolness.
