U2 music is great until joshua tree....everything else is complete and utter crap......probably because Bono became voice for the world around that time as well.

Ahhh the quality of U2 hatred is not strained, it droppeth as the gentle rain from Heaven.

The only sucked less pre Joshua tree cos they sounded even more of a JD ripoff :hehe:

And the only soapboxing Bongo did was about Ireland, he hadn;t yet appointed himself as deity of all reality.

"U2 somehow seems to live in rock music's hedonistic world — without being of it."

That's 'cos they live up bono's arse, which they all disapered up in 1984.

I saw them in Japan, they were amazing. Great band, great tunes and amazing lightshow.

'Oh, this is alright' I thought. Then Bongo crawled onto the stage (I'm not wearing this up) wearing a blindfold, pretending to be blind, feeling around for his microphone then ranting in Japanese. Or it might have been English, I'd gone to the bar. Later he told the audience that he wished his dad was here because he'd say 'take off those fucking glasses'. Then he took off his glasses. They were back on again within five minutes. The rest of the band look at him with disgust when he's up to all that shit. Especially the Edge. At one point the edge snapped, stormed over to Bongo, snatched the mic in his hand, bellowed 'shut the fuck up and get on with the songs you twat', then twatted Bongo in the face, knocking off his glasses.

Well, that's not actually true. But he looked like he might.

Over 30 years they've some good stuff, but not enough. I'll put my hands up an say i've got the two old best of's from a few years ago and Achtung Baby.

Wouldn't make it into my top 20 bands though.

One thing it's NOT is Scotch, that's Whiskey, call a scotsman scotch and he will ask you if you pass a medical facility on your way home and suggest you get this stitched.

Oh Biggie, if only U2 WERE New Order, that story may have been true :D

I've never heard a Scot call whisky 'Scotch'. To do so would imply that there is another type of whisky worth talking about.

We should ask a real Scottish person.

Where's Shug?

VERY true sir.

Mind you I've seen a few Scots sink a few glasses of Black Bush, and not complain....mind you I don't think they were PAYING :evil4:

This does always make me laugh:

"At a recent U2 gig in Glasgow, Bono launched into his finger-snapping routine, which any of you that have seen the band live will be familiar with. In case you haven't, there is a part in the show when Bono gets the crowd to be silent and begins clicking his fingers at five-second intervals before poignantly telling the hushed crowd: 'Every time I click my fingers, a child dies in Africa.' Well, when he reached this moment at the Glasgow gig, one punter broke the reverent silence with the soon to be legendary: 'Well stop clicking your fucking fingers then!' The crowd roared with laughter and the moment was totally lost."
