That's "cult" as in "never hugely popular or not popular enough to sell tons of records at the time, but influential all the same since", not "roving band of religious zealots who kill people and then themselves in some misguided attempt to reconnect with the mother-ship" ![]()
Now that I've cleared that up, my list:
1.) Joy Division 2.) The Modern Lovers 3.) Velvet Underground (in their day they couldn't give their records away) 4.) The Smiths (stateside anyways) 5.) The Replacements (picked up their best-of, really digging it).
