Freakin illegals shouldn't get health care until they start paying some real taxes (and don't give that sales tax defense). Its getting to be better to be an illegal, why the hell would they ever desire to become a citzen anyways?

....but there are many that aren't paying these taxes. Hell they own cars, but don't have any drivwer's license, registration or insurance. There are many acciedents where they smack into people....and it comes out of the leagal residents pocket. So much of that type of crap happens over here. They live by one set of rules and the legal residents live by another. It doesn't pay to be a legal resident here, if they are staying in the same social class when legalized.

Two possibilities.

First, Ah-nuld is proposing universal health care in California. This means everybody is covered. Republicans are opposed to that idea, because that would presumably mean that illegal aliens are covered as well. As Edelbrock said, when they start paying taxes, then they can get health care (until I pointed out that they do pay taxes, upon which he changed his argument... ).

Second, illegal aliens can go to emergency rooms, which are required by law to provide treatment. Unfortunately, relying on emergency rooms to provide health care for the uninsured is prolly the stupidest health policy in the nation; it's bot the most expensive form of health care (and paid for by the taxpayers, ultimately), and it doesn't provide preventative care, which is the least expensive way to provide health care.

"Schwarzenegger argued it this way Monday:

"Let me be clear about this one issue … the debate over covering undocumented or illegal immigrants. I don't think it is a question or a debate if they ought to be covered…. A federal law requires us to treat everyone who shows up at an emergency room and needs care….

"Therefore, the decision that [we] made was not should we treat them…. The question really is, how can we treat them in the most cost-effective way? Because right now they go into an emergency room, and that means sometimes thousands of dollars are being rung up with all kinds of … CAT scans and X-rays and this and that for a simple nosebleed.

"But in the meantime, we can do it cheaper by sending them just to a doctor…. We are trying to be realistic here and not live in denial."

Schwarzenegger says that during the last decade, 65 emergency rooms have closed in California "because they're fed up with it. They don't want to keep treating people without insurance." In L.A. County alone, he says, one-fifth of the emergency rooms have closed.

In his annual State of the State Address on Tuesday night, the governor told legislators about recently visiting California Hospital Medical Center in downtown L.A. Last year there, he said, uninsured patients "left behind $60 million in unpaid bills. That's one hospital.

"Multiply that by the number of hospitals in California and the amount runs into the billions. Guess who's paying for all this? You and you and you and me and all of us who are lucky enough to have coverage. That's who pays."

Well, the Governator may have a point....and a point well taken on that. But I really am tired of the legal residents bending over backwards for illegals that no one will deport back, refusung to assimilate even the smallest amount into society.....and yet they can sue me when they run through a stoplight, hit me, and are uninsured, licensed, and lack of registration.
