I'm glad this didn't happen Saturday, or I'd have a bitch of a time getting around town.

Driving around town a couple of hours ago, listening to some local sports radio show which had a Fox News break at the top of the hour, I was a bit shocked to hear of the event. Never in my life did I expect to hear the terms "Aqua Teens" and "fair and balanced" mentioned in practically the same breath.

Apparently Portland was also one of the cities that had some of those electric signs placed around town, I just saw a report on the local ABC news channel about it, along with a video of some of the signs being blown up, although nobody reported anything weird about that (no surprise about that, really . Poor, poor Err and Ignignokt!

At any rate, good publicity for the movie, and it'll give Bostonians something to talk about for years and years

Yep, there's one at NW 23rd and Burnside, although I had no idea what it was-- apart from some guy flipping the bird-- until I read this article.

At any rate, good publicity for the movie, and it'll give Bostonians something to talk about for years and years

Crap, crap, crap...... I was at Zenner's today, off NW 21st & Kearney, and sometimes I go back down 23rd to get to Burnside (if I wanna kill a bit of time driving out near Columbia Blvd.) but instead I went down 23rd to get on 1-405 and hit I-5 that way; hope it's still there next week.

Got a laugh out of Charles Gibson of ABC, in his lead story for the ABC news, spit out the term "a stupid stunt" in reference to this; the NBC story was about 5 minutes in, and treated it as a rather harmless plan gone awry.

also been laughing to see how many of the newspaper reports have been blurring out the raised middle fingers of some of the devices "I'm doing this as hard as I can" "you and your three dimensions!"

The only cartoons in this whole thing are the people of Boston. Despite the signs being around for weeks and not deliberately looking anything like a bomb (didn't anyone ever own a Lite Brite, FFS?), Bostonians went apeshit. No one in any of the other 10 cities visited by Mooninites took any notice over the last few weeks, much less much less tried to make it a national emergency. State of the paranoid nation. I'm surprised FAUX NEWS didn't raise the terror level.

Pretty stupid stunt nonetheless. No reason to plant things like this without notice. Mabe many too it out of hand by freaking out, but still think it was an irresponsible advertisement gimmick.

I don't know which is funnier: the overreaction of the Boston cops or the disgust in the voice of Fox News' esteemed journalist David Ass-Man when he was reporting it. I guess it didn't help that Adult Swim is part of the Cartoon Network, which in turn is owned by Turner Broadcasting (which also owns CNN)

Interestingly enough, Anderson Cooper of CNN was explaining how irresposible it was as well....so Turner network was slagging itself?

It could be one of those things where the Cartoon Network is the "bastard child" of the Turner broadcasting family, looked down upon by the better kids in the bunch. After all, you don't see AS ads on CNN like you see ads for American Idol all day on Fox News.

I'm going to see if O'Reilly does any venting about this (he can always be counted on in the overreaction market) :p
