Computers don't make people stupid, it's just that stupid people have so much more scope for their art when presented with a PC/Mac. Both platforms give the intensely thick, the impression that they can "do computers", by being JUST moron proof enough to open up vast swathes of new trouble possibilities. As if botnets and winzombie armies buggering up the internet wasn't proof enough....look at sites like ebay, which were once the preserve of the clueful and generally cool places to use online. Now every wanker has an ebay account and it's become the web's very own Mos Eisley. Existing users have not caught Dubyaitis overnight, instead, vast hordes of hairdressers have arrived to buy white high heels.

And of course, we all know about the changes a certain manufacturer made to their BIOS so it read "please press return to continue", following 20,000+ calls to tech support asking "which is the "any" key"[1]. Or the lady who phoned Compaq cos her cupholder was shite and her coffee had ripped it off and hit the floor.....you know the cupholder that slides out of your pc when you press the wee button....even has a little recess for the cup. Or the woman who complainde to HP that her footpedal was useless........... (I shall leave that one for those who know to snigger and those who don't to ponder)

[1]But Compaq, bless em, left "keyboard missing, press F1 to continue", which is enough to keep you awake at night even WITHOUT knowing that X86 PC's generally CAN'T hot-detect a keyboard, so the message has nothing to do with wiggling the wires till F1 works.

I don't know, my cup holder seems to hold up fine! My older computer has two directly ontop of each other....so Cambo, how am I suppose to hold two cups with a setup like this?

Maybe they mean to e-mail a file or document with whatever permission you need for whatever you're going to do. I don't think they literally mean a handwritten one.... OK, maybe the signature could be handwritten...

AHHHH that makes so much sense now! I heard they are also used to store data, but I can't seem to get my 9 inch floppies inside of them. I even tried to fold them, take them out of their protective case....everything, but no luck. How do you tap into this new found wonderment of the cupholder?
