A better ending would've been Sam waking up in 2006, getting back to work but also deciding to look up who actually was in charge of CID in the "real" 1973. From then an ending scene with Tyler tracking down an aged Hunt or Annie and an immediate realisation they knew each other would've been a nicely bizarre touch, roll end credits...

To be fair, a few hours in modern day Manchester is enough to make you want to throw yourself off a building anyway; maybe getting back to 1973 had nothing to do with it

Maybe Sam saw the postings on this site and realising that New Order were (possibly) coming to a end decided the thought of that was too much and by going back to 1973 he could enjoy their time again.

Thought at one point he was going to end up back in 2005 rather than 2007.The train as it pulled out at the start of the final scenes appeared to have the number 2005 on the front.

And what did MARS stand for again? Frank Morgan had it on a document when he was talking with Sam in the car.Metropolitan ? ? ?

Cant remember and my Sky+ box malfuntioned (as apparently they all do every 3 bloody months).

Did you know that Frank Morgan was also the actors name who played the Wizard in Wizard Of Oz? Strange but true.

Did'nt see the second series on telly,cos i missed the first two parts and did'nt fancy watching it part way in..

So got it on DVD,and have watched the first 3 episodes so far..Good telly so far,but not as good as The Sopranos..which I've hammered lately,but am missing the final 2 episodes of,in my collection....Fuckin bloke I got them off at work is on the sick,so I won't see them for a while yet.Curses. :\ohwell:
