Well, it was a great fooking nite regardless of who turned up anyway - too many stellar celebs and other acquaintences there for me to stick my teeth into for me to remember - Les (Fruitbat) Carter's crew were the diamond geezahs they were - all of them - including Jim Morrison (formely known as JimBob from CarterUSM) - and Fruitbat's divine missus Crissi (oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes...she took a piccie of mee moshing on down to Abdou's 300mph turbo-charged punk-rawk set!!). Great to hang round and chat with them all and reminisce on all the old times and new times too!!
other folks on the night were reportedly Robin Guthrie from Cocteau Twins (whom I didn't catch), Wilko Johnson (ditto), Marco Pirroni (whom I chatted to about his Bromley cohorts Siouxsie & The Banshees reforming for two UK dates this coming July) - god, what a tub of lard that guy is now! - Damian O'Neill from the Undertones was going to make it - as was Beki Bondage and Gave Advert but they all couldn't at the last minute! Tons of presshounds there - Simon Pricey (Manics "Everything" Biog Author), Ben Myers from Rocksound and Stevie Chick from Kerrang!, plus other hacks all gathered for the occasion....wow!!
The only Onliner who showed up was Timbo and his missus Karen - so Big Up to you for coming along and supporting us when I'd just about given up hope of anyone from this site ever seeing me in action (too bad, it's their loss, seeing as that's the only chance they'll have of seeing me on tour with the band now) - and no surprises at those who only got as far as the pub only to turn tail at the last minute - we were on at 10pm and off stage by 11pm - (fooking early by Major London gig nite standars ) due to there being an indie club starting up afterwards. Surely THAT wasn't going to present too much of a problem was it??? Bloody lightweights.....no excuses....blah blah blah blah.....
Oh, Timbo, if you're reading this, I actually DID trash the kit true to tradition the night after at Tunbridge Wells. In complete contrast to the 500 who turned up at the mighty Garage, only 20 showed up at Boil BumFridge Smells. (Half of them kids from Brighton!!) and our "Disgusted" personas certainly came across in the set where we played a fooking blinder that surpassed even the Garage one for sheer ferocity and I finished by jumping ON my drums then kicking them flying off stage!! Ha ha ha ha ha
:evil2: :evil2: The Brighton kids (barely 15 years old most of them) were so awestruck they couldn't even speak to us afterwards without stuttering and shaking....we signed loads of autographs for them and they even made off with our sticks which they persuaded us to give them....bless 'em! We'll probably be playing Brighton on our next leg now, thanks to them and the support band Dead Audio (storming punk rockers likewise)
But as for Fooking Tunbridge Wells.... it's still the deadest fooking place we've ever seen all right!! Never again!
I'm fooking knackered now - seven hours drive from RTW to Manchester in the pissing Sunday morning rain....only getting into my own bed at 8 o clock this morning...
Next stop.... Worcester this Thursday .....probably...... still interested Timbo and fair lady?? ;)
