Or the daytime TV 'tec trio of Jessica Fletcher, er, the one played by Dick van Dyck in diagnosis murder, and Monk, the one with OCD.

(When I found myself in a position to watch a lot of daytime TV recently, it struck me how well it knows how to flatter its target daytime audience, cf the above three - one older woman with her small town US heartland homespun wisdom, one near-retirement age doctor, and one guy off work on disability. All thats missing is Joe Giro, PI - the dole detective, who solves crimes in between signing on - but can never accept payment from those he helps in case it affects his entitlement to benefit).

My vote would be Regan and Carter from The Sweeney. The original and best '70's blagger catching, womanising and booze binging coppers ever brought to the screen and they soon show Gene Hunt/Life On Mars to 'SHUT IT!' LOL! Cheers!
