Myself and a friend are sitting here at work discussing "Stone Roses". Which leads us to the question, what was the name of the 1st single off Stone Roses second album " The Second Coming".

Anyone know so we can stop arguing about it...lol

Also was "One Love" released after the 1st album and before the second coming?

Okat Thats it ...

One Love was released the best part of a year after Fools Gold, in later part of 1990.

First single off The Second Coming was Love Spreads, i think in late 1994.

One Love was released in July 1990. Soundtrack to one of the best summers of my life that was. Loved "Something's Burning" (the b-side) just as much. A forgotten classic

The Roses were fuckin ace! Loads of us of a certain age would say they were the band to soundtrack our coming of age.Massive round here,to this day. Sorely missed, but never forgotten.

The thing about the Roses was that they always had brilliant b-sides as well (much like The Smiths). Stuff like Going Down, Mersey Paradise, Where Angels Play etc. all effortless and rivalled alot of what was on the first album.

Shame the b-sides to Love Spreads were pish! Moses and Ride On stank of contractual obligation from start to finish.

While we're here why don't we restart the whole debate as to whether Second Coming was any good or not?

Played it one the way down to Chelsea last week. I like most of it but the feel of it as a whole is just wrong. Bits of it jar and irritate slightly. There's nothing really amazing on it. The main problem though is the direction, why abandon the sound on the 4 tracks released after Stone Roses, for a totally unfashionable rock sound?
