I'm not being funny, but does anyone think he can really sell out 21 nights at the 02 Arena?!

TWENTY...ONE!

LINK

It'll surely just be the same people going every night 'til they get bored?! I mean, he was massive in his day, but surely that ain't the case these days?!

Have every respect the little fella but that's over-selling himself somewhat, no?

Should we expect to see tickets for pennies on ebay nearer the day?

Oh, I dunno. It looks like he's knocking music on the head (for a while at least), you get a greatest hits set AND a new LP for the same price as recent New Order gigs and they've got a selection of 150 to choose from.

How many times would YOU go and see New Order if you knew it could be practically a different set every night????!!!

I've got two of their tennis racquets, and one squash one.

better than Head or Yonex.

Yes I agree with you Al. A bit of overkill from the purple one there - 4-5 nights maybe but not 21 nights. Still at £31 and a copy of his new CD is pretty reasonable IMO Cheers!:thumb:

He's quite the performer... and quite the egomaniac.

The fact that he's booked 21 nights doesn't shock me in the least. I share your skepticism, however, with respect to whether they'll sell out.

It's possible. He's got a huge fanbase.

How big is the 02 Arena? It's been a while since he's toured mind. And it would be the type of "event" that would appeal to the gullible.

I saw him in Vegas in January, he does every Friday and Saturday in the Rio Hotel, just off-strip. Was a good night but not worth the 110 bangers I had to shell out for a ticket. Small nightclub venue, and he played all the hits.

Bizzarely, the only other time I've seen him play was in The Garage (capacity 500) at one of his "secret" after show's in '94. The fella's sold out 40K plus stadiums around the globe and I've only ever seen him in micro-venues!

If this arena only seats around 10,000, then maybe I could see it, since that would be only 210,000 total. But if it's a big arena, I don't see how he could sell out being so long in the same place.

23,000 seated. More if they allow standing!

I think he has seriously oversold himself.

Still, short man syndrome, eh?

Prince gig in Dublin the last time was all seated, so probably the 02 will be as well.

You'd be suprised how some artists can manage this kind of thing. Its £50 for a ticket to see Barbara Streisand on tour this year.

So he's basically hoping to play to half a million people over three weeks.

Prince has probably enough songs to play all of them once in the 21 nights

21 nights? Blimey. I thought he only recently had a hip replacement?

21 nights is just ridiculous :spit:

I think that O2 Arena has got a smaller hall (especially for 21 gigs on the trot type Solo artists). What a cockhead:scratch:

Now, that's comedy.............

And he wants Amy Winehouse to join him? Hmmm. That is a combination that is rather unexpected.

That's crazy and how many name changes later. Only know what he did 20odd yrs ago. Even then think it'd be a painful set. Think the night as a whole, it'd all depend on who you go with. When if you're out with just one, or a slew of, mate(s) it really doesn't matter where or what you get to. yet Prince.. :barf: He'll never ever be 'Cool like say Neil Diamond

It's the old Millenium Dome in Greenwich,London. He is good live, saw him years ago at Maine Road on his LOVESEXY tour.Tickets were as rare as rocking horse shit back then. But 21 nights??

Just to clarify, he is doing 21 nights in London at different venues. 7 gigs at the Dome. Some of them will be really small.

Whats my best form of attack to get tickets for this. Can only go to 1 show. Should I go to the first show on the 1st Aug or the last show on the 14th Aug? Ticketmaster or See Tickets for better seats?

I was thinking, what a shame NO think 21 dates a decade's overwork, and then realised......

If NO did stints like this, most of the Vikings would be bankrupt, and a few of the really daft ones would be down to flogging organs.

I can just see a row of brains in jars, fitted only with eyes, ears, and gobs for bellowing Nooooo Odddaaaahhhh a lot.

Then again after about the 15th night the band's story would probably end with a bang, or lots of them, and hacking noises, and a dressing room like an abatoire.

Whats he doing, read somewhwere that each night is a different album so if thats true you'd need the right gig. Imagine the demand for say Purple Rain or Sign 'o' The Times.

The whole thing smacks a wee bit of desparation on the wee man's part. His career pretty much bombed after Diamonds and Pearls. I can remember him selling out Parkhead in 92. That's 40K for most gigs. He wouldn't get even half that now.

And when he did that after party I went to in '94 he didn't play one recognisable Prince track! It was all extended "funky jams" and P-Funk covers. No-compromise which is what he's always been about.

Now he's got a residency in a Vegas nightclub and he's touting a "Greatest Hits Farewell Tour" which is more in keeping with Status Quo than a man of his talents.

Gman - like liam says it's not 21 nights in the o2 arena - its 21 nights in london, in different venues. including some very small clubs.

get the 3121 bit of the password, but what's the LBZ bit in between the numbers?
