Bought more Jaffa Cakes at 04:30
The small, brown wrinkled gentleman behind the counter at the garage gave me a very strange look. I swear his ginger arms were a bit too long for his body.
My lack of sleep is becoming a joke of the calibre of Monty Python's WWII uberjoke.
In the last week I've done several 36-40 hour stints, only to be rewarded with maybe two hours of sleep. The moment I wake for any reason, it's all over, zero chance of getting back to sleep.
In ten days the longest period of sleep I've had is 4.5 hours and that required a 40 hour waking beforehand. A typical sleep cycle for me currently would be this mornings.....went to bed at 0400, must have drifted off about a quarter past. woke at 0445 spent 15 mins trying to get back, failed and bailed, been up since.
4am. Woohoo! Up, buzzing and 'I'm The Greatest' - erm... is er playing on the stereo...
Anyone want a 4am barbecue? I'm going to get as annoying as Jenn, aren't I?
*Note to self* Take DOWNERS before sleep, not uppers
D'Oh Just fcuking solved what the problem was

That's terrible. Have you tried taking some melatonin? Some people find it helpful as a sleep aid.

Gotta be careful what I take when on these pills, me liver is on overtime coping with them, all I have tried is Valerium with limited success.
However, I can report that following a stint from 1400 yesterday till 1100 today, with no food or drink but water from 2200 (blood tests this morning to see if I can have yet MORE of these pills, JOY), I slept like a geological formation for at least 7 hours today, even if my dog DID bark me out of bed twice.
Cambo, I've been wondering, actually.
WTH are those candy-looking things in your siggy, anyway?? ![]()
melatonin gives me nightmare. Ambien caused me to call people up on the phone while sleeping. Lunesta has been alright, except the waking up part is the problem.

JELLY BABIES JENN! JELLY BABIES!!!! :yum:
The fourth Doctor had a thing for offering them to folk in times of extreme personal danger.....eg captured by the nasty gun toting aliens and presented to their leader, out would come the little paper bag.
He also said possibly THE most intelligent thing on the subject of Jelly babies...."nobody truly evil ever eats jelly babies".
Although he scared the piss out of Leila with 'em ![]()
EDIT: more often it was nasty gun toting humans, I always like that about Dr Who, so much less up humanity's arse.

So it's true what they say - The Evil One really DOES eat babies?
I loved that line :)

It's probably why, several stories later, he said the thing about nobody evil eating them.
I love the sweetie trail in Prate Planet, it's priceless, you will however note that he wastes predominantly liquorice allsorts and not many jelly babies.
Ohhh, so they're called 'Jelly Babies' then!? Oi, never heard of 'em. They need to be shipped to the States.
Of course, someone'll eventually have a fit and 3/4 over the name but...

And John, that was really cruel - the bit where she ends up kissing the orang utan made me need to change me kecks! ![]()
Watched this one last night before going to bed and for the first time in ages I actually slept well.
It's one of those 'peaceful' scenes of English countryside - it was an advert for a car, filmed for British TV that was never broadcast because the edit suite team and the director noticed a 'ghostly' presence following the car through the countryside and they decided not to broadcast it because apparently, some poor girl was killed in a car crash on the stretch of road where they filmed. I couldn't see it, but maybe others can ![]()
Oh, you need the sound turned on for this...
