in a real OS

"mplayer -streamdump dvd:\"

in DOS?

either spend the next month downloading "all in one super super dvd ripper off" programs, none of which work right and all of which cost too much (since they do not actually DO anything!!), ORRRRR set your record source to "output" or "master" or "what you hear" depending on exacly HOW childish your mixer program is. Then spark up wavelab or soundforge or adobe audition, or if you are into pain, windows sound recorder. play DVD, record output, edit at your leisure.

Yeah windows easy, linux hard.

try a software called Dvd to mp3 converter

There is a freeware application called Audacity that gives you the option to 'record' in real time, ie play the DVD and cature the sound as it plays, which you then can save as .wav or .mp3

I know thats a bit like taping the top 40 off your Dad's music centre in the lounge when you were thirteen, but it gets the job done...
