Better than the past few albums?
He's only had 3 or 4, hasn't he?!
Take it you mean it's his best yet then?
I'm warming to Ian Brown. I think my problem was basically this: I never actually listened to any of his stuff so just assumed he was shit. But then I did listen to his stuff and realised he wasn't that bad.
It's a common mistake which people often make. ![]()
He's Doing a "Secret" gig in Brighton on Friday night at the old Zap club. £10 on the door.
Apparently

Well, Yeah. The Best Of he put out is the only thing you really need. I was being polite!

Al,
I've been listening to his stuff since he first released solo albums... The first one is odd, to say the least (listen to "Lions"), but it does have the sublime "Corpses" on it. Second album is much better and has a sequence of 5 or 6 songs which are really good.
Think he continues to improve from the 3rd album ("Northern Lights is an overlooked modern great) which has F.E.A.R on it...
Saw him play down in Brighton a few years ago and he and his band brought the house down.
All very good. Not sure about the bollocks he spouts in interviews though ![]()
i love the ian brown 'greatest' best of thing.he's very involved in the studio mixing of his stuff and is actually better at that than at singing ![]()

didn't he deck his soundman at T in the Park same year New Order were there for making him 'sound shit'?

I don't just reserve that behavour for Ian Brown - that's for most bands! Including the Order.
We all walked out of his Buenos Aires gig after six songs en masse - but that's cos it was a dry bar. Ian Brown or ale? Nae choice! ![]()

Where'd you find it? Had a ganders at Soulseek and could see nish there?!
Er, or did you confiscate it of a villain who had 2000 copies on dodgy CDR in his lock-up?! ![]()

it's not bad I spose, but he obviously never took his sense of humour to the studio with him. Mind you the world is a serious place....:\ohwell:

Are there any other new albums of note, due imminently?
There was a whole tranche of 'em in one go in the summer - Mondays, UNKLE, Interpol, NYPC, Chemicals, etc, etc. Seem to remember sticking a good dozen albums on me iPodicus in one hit a couple of months back?
Should I be looking out for anything else very soon?
