The RootMeanSquare thing is just to do with averaging it assuming it to be a sine wave, but its only gonna make a difference of a factor of root2.
I suppose one _could_ get peak output of 600Watts out of a USB port, but only in short bursts. Clearly the speaker includes an absolutely enormous battery, that slowly charges for several hours, while the speaker remains silent, then performs at 600Watts for a second or so before falling silent again. Either that or the listed specs are bollocks.

Watts = Amps x Voltage
so you would only be looking at 20 amps by US 110V, or 10 amps by most of the world's 220V.....most house breakers are around 10-25 amps...with larger ones up to 80 amps for your A/C and larger appliances....
Edel you bliff....V is a feckin constant at 110 in your country (very low, very safe, probably for the best all things considered), so I (amps) varies proportionally as P (Watts)/110.

A pet hate of mine is people who come into my living/machine room, and upon seeing 30 things running off one outlet, proclaim what a twat I am and tell me how unsafe that is. You can BET the same person runs an electric fire, a tumble dryer and a washing machine from one outlet, "cos it's safe cos it;s only 3" which of course will draw far more current and heat up far more wiring, than all 30 of my 1 and 2 Watt gadgets.
Now HERE's a question, How come 3 phase is 440V? 250+250+250=440...methinks not. It's bound to be some RMS deal aint it.
hahaha...I had a feeling you'd point that out, but I stand me ground...it's amps that blow it, because we DO have 240 as well out here....which is what comes from the ground and cables, but at the breaker box we only use one lead for the breakers which makes it 110, so if you have the proper breaker you can have 240 out of the same box (plus voltage isn't exactly a constant as it varies about 110-120 and 220-240 volts when in use)....we use single phase wiring (even with 220)at 50 hZ, whereas you guys use three phase at 60 hZ.
As for the leads, all have 110-120 at each lead. You have three hot wires and one nuetral and possibly one ground... use only one lead and you have US 110 (or single phase)... the three phase has the current running at different phase 'angles' but just think of it as sine waves set at different times, so they build on each other, but not like single phase which are at the same phase 'angles'.... so with single phase 110+110=220.... but with 3 phase, all three are at different phase 'angles' so 110+110=208 add a third 110+110+100=220
Does that makes sense?
My rather gorgeous Naim amps are only rated at 50 watts per channel but are far louder (and clearer) than any other amps I've heard with a similar rating. My Missions speakers can handle up to 100W but I wouldn't like to try to go that high.
I'm sure that my amp would blow the 2400W speakers to pieces.

Pretty sure it would ;) Efficiency is a big part of it. A Vox AC30 can cut a 10K PA to shreds.
