Reading in yesterdays paper bout a copper, muserlim copper, from Brum i think, accusing one of his gaffers of being Islamophobic. Apparently his guv'nor made a few snide comments over his beard and frock etc. But ,what a society we live in when theres a name like islamophobia! It really is beyond a fucking joke.(uk turning into U.S!)

Fair enough a bit of banter between two colleagues but fuck me,every time a muserlim,or any other race thats non white gets a bit of stick then the old race card comes out :banghead:

I've got an idea, you know when muserlims go to Mecca (bingo) then why dont the yanks send em a paveway/pathfinder ,that will give em summat to think about,a taste of their own medicine perhaps?

And they say i'm

What a crazy fookin world we live in

I saw a Billy Connolly show where he was saying that the only section of society that you can take the piss out of now without the PC brigade having a 'go' are white, aetheist, heterosexual, able bodied males.

That's me fucked then.

You've contradicted yourself though, shirley, Nuts?

Was it genuinely "a few snide comments from his gaffer" or was it was it just a "bit of banter between two work colleagues"?

They're two totally different scenarios.

If was to call a lad I work with 'a bit of a cunt' whilst we're having a giggle then no one would bat an eyelid, if I was to use the same phrase to another colleague in a formal situation I'd be sacked on the spot. I would have no defence, it would not be deemed acceptable.

Same in any job, surely?

If the senior copper was making genuine racial slurs then he should have the book thrown at him. If the Muslim lad is using his religion as a crutch though, then he's properly out of order too.

for me having a go at someones religion is fair game. Religion is a belief system built upon myth, fables, tales and unprovable ideas. All these can be challenged by the non-believer.

Love it

Me and a couple of colleagues started using 'Touch cloth' as opposed to 'Touch base'. Hilarious, until it becomes a bit too habitual and you say it to the wrong person

From Today's Guardian:

Don't knock Scientology, says theology student Will.

And so to a Will Smith promotional interview, in which the actor both leaps to the spiritual defence of his good friend Tom Cruise, and reminds us that Scientology is the religion with science right up there in the title.

"I'm a student of world religion," explains the star. "The ideas of the Bible are 98% the same ideas of Scientology, 98% the same ideas of Hinduism and Buddhism."

Yes. It's a shame to have to go over this again, but according to numerous whistleblower accounts, one of the innermost secrets of Scientology - which reportedly costs about $360,000 to reach - is this: 75bn years ago, the intergalactic alien tyrant Xenu exiled manifold individuals to Earth in special craft - which, intriguingly, looked exactly like DC8s. These beings were then imprisoned in mountains before being blown up with hydrogen bombs and brainwashed with a huge 3D film. Their traumatised spirits - "Body Thetans" - then clustered around human bodies and continue to do so to this very day, and can only be removed using advanced Scientology. Xenu is currently held captive in a mountain by a forcefield. Just like the Buddha. Oh, wait ...

"It's dangerous and it's ignorant," Will concludes of the criticism of Scientology. "How can I condemn someone for what they believe and I believe that God was born from a pregnant virgin?"

I rather think Will has answered his own question. Either way, that is all we have time for from our Professor Emeritus of Theology (University of Bad Boys 2).
