Santa is bringing me one of these bad boys.......

All real metal and real leather, 2.5 turns from lock to lock, "friction feel" free force feedback (say that pissed), individual dampers on pedals allowing them to fight back the correct amount (ie, soft gas, firm clutch, tough brake).

Should be interesting, as I am shite with a clutch....will only get licensed to drive a road car when rally style gearboxes are more common  Of course modern F1, rally and GT cars don't use the clutch much, but I drive lots of "olden days" cars in sims.

Which brings me to me question....

Any other PC petrolheads on here fancy a race?

Do's.... Grand Prix Legends Rfactor GT Legends Live for Speed Dead ginger dick rally Race07 F1 Challenge GTR 1+2 etc

Don'ts Need for speed anything, dull and unrealistic nonsense. ToCA anything after 2 (ToCA 1 on the psx is still my fave tintop game, but ToCA racedriver etc are just totally TROUSERS!) Anything where you need to get to checkpoints while a clock counts down.

You get the idea, sims, not silly games.

Any takers for a multicar pile up (or "race" as the call it in the BTCC) sometime after chrimbo???

I was the king of the console at one time; my family wanted me to enter all the competitions ran by the game manufactures.

After the death of my Grandparents (and other "heavy" shit) my Doc gave me Prozac for depression. When I later asked her if it slowed your reaction time she was gobsmacked: no-one had ever noticed before as it's a matter of milliseconds. But when you were as good as I was: it fucking mattered! (It might have "washed my brain out" but next day it was in the bin!)

...And my dear Mr Campbell, I could still tank your ass at many "racing" console games! Was never beaten at plenty!

Was also ace at anything requiring flying helicopters (and so modest with it!)

I Love/d the Wip3out series but wimps like you couldn't handle that; timed gates, weapons, crash damage, and a mad Scottish fucker out to get you! In fact right now I'm off for a shot of R-Type; a game I first perfected at 14, playing on a massive "fruit" machine.

I am such a responsible grown up adult! (My wee shit of a son's showing alarming signs of instinctual perfection, and it'll not be too long before he nicks his auld man's crown.)

... and anyway computers are for electronauts and sociotards!

I liked wipeout on the psx, especially with a wheel.

Loved Gran Tourismo too, in fact, this wheel works on PS2/3 and Xbox as well as PC, so I may get a PS* and GT* for a larf.

My best efforts amount to running quite well in the 3rd division of the UKGPL league.

How can we race a computer against a real car.

I reckon I can do Aberdeen to Manchester at faster than any computer.

(I repeat) As the Buzzcocks said "I Hate Fast Cars!" :nonono:

Now blowing yer mates motor tay fuck on a console has a strangely fascinating appeal (but maybe that was 'cause I wizz always the last man standing. )

At least when you have a 'computer car' it doesn't hurt so much when you roll it and bang your head

Ihave had a wheel for my computer. But somehow it broke very soon. :(

I'm a big fan of Gran Turismo (I have every sequel up to 4).

I also have NFS Underground and NFS Carbon for my PS2 (I'm a girl so I like to create nice fancy cars  ). I also got Colin McRea Rally 2005 (R.I.P. Colin :( ), Wip3out, Twisted Metal Black and Destruction Derby Arenas (yeah I also like to destrooooy :evil4: ). I don't want to count the GTA series or Driver 1-3 in here (got them all, too).

Good god Bere you've nearly as many games as me. Now if we could just have a triangular Wip3out contest; The Good Doctor, Yourself and I, we could soon prove I'd tank the pair of you!

Hmmmmm, a boxing "sim" sounds about as likely as a motorbike sim or an eating sim.

And I'll thrash all comers in my Eagle Weslake round Rouen Des Essarts....or even the Nurburgrung Nordschleife, tho at least one NOOLer's done that for real AND come back to tell of it!!!!

I used to play a motorbike sim in Arbroath when I was a bairn. You sat on a "real" bike looking at a giant screen; and the bike would jump around depending on your moves: it was ace!

As for "I'll thrash all comers" you couldnay beat me at snap mate!
