I love it.Once all that Christmas and New Year nonsense is out of the way it's a free run ![]()
Got a big night out in Birmingham (if you can have such a thing) this coming Saturday for someone's 40th.
I like Mondays too.Although that's probably because i have this coming Monday off.Which is just as well after a night out in the , erm , 24 hour party city Birmingham
And i don't have to be in work til 10.30 am tomorrow and only have to do 6 hours then:)
On the downside though, we have to work down in Hemel Hempstead on Friday
Mine has not been the best, but not for seasonal reasons in the main.
And now I've got a cold.
Brilliant.
The only thing I don't like about it is that February follows it; after [anti-]Valentine's day I should be just fine.
Otherwise, this month's been pretty much alright, especially with my no-longer-enemy/now-best-friend New System at work.
It's fcukin' awesome.
--oh sh!t, my ex was to be back in town this month too. Okay, maybe this month isn't all that great...

On the other hand , yeah it is a bit deathly. All them trees without leaves 'n stuff.
I dunno , it's kind of like trying to find the right gear again some days.As a year rolls on and gathers momentum you get in to a swing with it but then suddenly the year ends and it's January and you have to find a rhythm again.Summat like that , dunno.
Make your mind up you bastard!
Do you find that people are more argumentative in January?
Well, do you?
Arseholes.

Come on then. :mad4:
I like January nowadays:
Mild, sunny weather, some rain - great for going walking
All that Christmas and New Year crap is out of the way
I get paid tomorrow AND again next week
There's loads of great stuff on TV
I've got loads of books and music to catch up on
All the miserable fcukers tend to hide away so I'm annoyed alot less!

:D
My wee Granny passed away at the ripe old age of 102 last week. She still had all her faculties and complete mobility about her and so despite her age, it was somewhat unexpected. Not a great start to the year.
Off to Porto on Tuesday for a last minute, well-paid gig which makes up for having to cancel my annual January trip to Vegas (and losing all the money I'd paid for it).
January is a shite month but the first week of January I find particularly shite.

First two weeks have been horrendous, but it will get better, and it is already showing signs of doing so.
BASTARD MONTH!

S.k.i.n.t Skint! Not the proverbial, pot to piss in. Due to still paying for Christmas and the Bells.
The time of year my Grandparents died: way too many shit memories.
:( Baltic fucking conditions endlees rain interspesed with snow (but no "nice" fluffy snow, sleet, wet icy snow; dirty lumpy shit!), and the wind, constant fucking moan and dirge in the backgound.
Janus: two faced fuck! One for looking back; and one for looking forward!?
"Aye, right?
See the buttons up the back of my head!?"
One for saying one thing too somebody,
and one for saying the oppisite to somebody else!
One of these days I'm gonna get Cerberus to bite the fucker right on the arse, just you wait and see if I don't! :rip:

Rather than do anything to the buttons on the back of yer head, maybe someone should slap you in the chest and make you say 'The Bunko Squad' over and over...
If your dog is guarding the gates of hell, then mine is probably sniffing its bum. That's the way the arse biscuit crumbles...

Christ I knew you'd know what I was rambling on about. Two rules I learnt and stuck too early on: never write down and never write up. As you know Chris half the time I'm winging it and pissing myself laughing at the shit I get away way!
Plus I like the idea that scum like me aff the streets a' Glasga might have something to say about "high art" or allusions to Greek or Roman literature! The looks I get when i launch into some shit about the "Futurist Movement" in Italy and it's influence on "Soviet realism" is fucking comical. "I shouldnay know wurds lik that let alone understaun them. No way ma accent and class"
Fuck the golden mean/triangle aerial perspective versus liner perspective, the Vesuvian Man, the Renaissance in Italy, Dutch and Flemish art etc etc; No way ma accent! ![]()
I should just be a thick wage-slave that can barely punch a time clock!
(And btw way IMHO, 99.9% of it is intellectual wank! When it comes right down to it beauty's is in the eye of the beholder.)
(PS:Chris I know you don't think like this, so where this rant/outburst came fae I don't know.)

How's everyone enjoying it?
I've done that thing again where I promised myself I wouldn't drink for One Whole Month.
Every year it's the same, every year I fail dismally. ![]()
Mine's been crap. I've had the worst flu known to man. I've had nightmares at work. I've had nightmares at home. My new kitchen has been delayed. My Visa bill is due and is likely to be terrifying. I broke all my resolutions by the 6th... I could go on...
Oh well, got a few things to look forward to in Feb, so chins up ![]()
Depressing month so far, what with starting back at work, decorating costing me a small fortune, shitey weather and to top it all, the horrible huns are now 4 points clear of us! ![]()
Looking forward to a pre-birthday bevvy with the Shugster tomorrow though and my daughter celebrates her 10th birthday on Sunday. ![]()

its been fuckin teeming down for 2 weeks.

Considering my birthday falls on the third, I FUCKING LOVE IT.
If January was a woman, I'd have leather bondage sex with her every minute of the month. ![]()
Too busy this year.
Began the year (and therefore the month) lying in bed. Still infected three weeks later. Have to pack everything before tomorrow, we move on Saturday. Then, squatting by ma&pa until the first of February.
Tuesday was sunny. I was almost amazed to see the sun.
Otherwise, better than the previous years.

Oh happy days!
Nowt good ever usually happens in January once New Years day is over. But this year's different, Keegan's Home ![]()
OVER HERE I love January - it's like Summer in Northern Europe, +27 C. So no complaints about it.
Now the most boring month is August.

Yes, its made everyone laugh.
The third Monday in January is 'officially' the most miserable day in the whole year, according to the our local TV news last night. The weather's rubbish, everyone's the most skint they can possibly be having cleaned themselves out at Christmas and the sales and payday is another week away. And, despite the shortest day being a month away, the nights still appear to be drawing in so it's dark when you get to work and dar when you're coming home.
They interviewed a few people in Aberdeen, all of whom seemed quite cheerful and pleased to be on the telly. Their argument dully fcuked they showed some footage of some fit people rolling around on pilates balls in a Perth shopping centre 'just to cheer you all up'.
They played Blue Monday during the report, so that was nice.

I actually had a day's holiday on Monday.Great to have a lie in on the most depressing day of the year. But by mid afternoon i was , erm, actually quite depressed. So I decided to go for a walk.Ended up wandering around a graveyard i hadn't visited for years.Fcuk knows why i'd ever been there in the first place seeing as i have no relatives buried there. And It was actually uplifting , made me grateful for being alive and not being 10 foot under.I reccommend trying it sometime!!![]()

Was going to say. Sounds like a right old jolly-up.
Not a big fan of the month. It's cold, I am still adjusting to the new semester, and it's not Daylight Savings Time yet. On top of that, it's almost time for me to get my W-2s and my financial aid ready again.
Hibster, have you suffered any sadness this month?
Mishaps, perhaps?
Argued with anyone?
Lost anything?

It's usually cold over here, but not that bad. In January, after the Emperor's Cup tournament on New Years Day, I'm usually just anxious for the J-League season to start in March.

sadness? nope. mishaps? not really. argued? don;t actually rememebr that bit! lost anything? temporarily!
i'm not posting that story on here that's fer sure
I've had a great January so far, dunno what everyone is whinging about. Certainly a less hectic than December. For once, I feel genuinely chilled.
Mind you, I did promise myself I wouldn't drink all month, then when that proved impossible said just once a week, then this week it's three large nights out, but then I never was any good with will power. Or sitting in.
It's improving, largely thanks to some very good friends and my family. And me.
Oops sorry I'm not really here! ![]()
Crap month and February isn't shaping up much better. The rest of the year should be much better.
Now when can I go on my world tour? Yeh right.
January 2008 might go down as one of my best ever.
Started so badly, but gets better and better each day.
Best of all; there's two whole days of it left ![]()
