Blimey!Atonement,filmed on Redcar beach,makes the Oscars! Loads of my mates were soldier extras..I was on the wrong shift for the 2 days filming sadly.. Though I must say,one of the buildings they destroyed to make it look like it had been shelled,is still a fuckin eyesore

But the real question is: will Keira Knightley win the "Best Glimpse of Minge in a Mainstream Movie" award for her soggy frock shenanigans in 'Atonement'?

Its a disgrace that Control didnt get any nominations, Sam Riley, Ian Curtis, New Order, love will tear us apart blah blah blah blah blah etc etc...

Surprising also is the obvious snubs. 1. Dose.ca American Gangster was Beautifully set and Filmed. Stunner. 3:10 To Yuma was sparse where it needed to be.

3. Into the Wild is Vibrant and rich and the kaleidescope of I'm not There incl. both Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams.

I can't believe they totally ignored that sell-out whore Martin Scorsese this year, after kissing his white ass... Hollywood, make up your mind. who cares if he didn't make a new film...

If No Country For Old Men doesn't get best picture its a farce, by far the best film of the past 5 years. Bout time Mr Lee Jones was given the credit he's been earning all these years.

Daniel Day-Lewis should be a shoo-in for it. He's fucking creepy the whole way through. He should be a lock, as should Bardem for Best Supporting Actor. Thankfully they don't have to compete against each other for it.

Then she tells me tonight that she has booked tickets for our local flicks to see this next week.

The problem is that HK is not as marketable in the box office. He does better work in independent and foreign/art films such as Reservoir Dogs, Ulysses' Gaze, and of course, Bad Lieutenant.

i saw there will be blood today. what a magnificent performance by all. paul dano was creepy in a children of the corn sort of way, i thought. and the kid was terrific.

the only thing that bothered me was jack palance's voice coming from DDL (i've heard john huston mentioned quite a bit, but all i could hear was palance).
