Spanish people

Not content with having national sports based on animal abuse. The Spaniards have taken to attacking F1 drivers (a sport strange to them, until a few years ago, roughly around the time one of them proved to be non-shite for the first time).

from pitpass.com

It is sad to report that a number of 'fans' are continuing to abuse the McLaren team at Barcelona and in particular 2007 World Championship runner-up Lewis Hamilton. As previously reported, on Saturday officials at the track sectioned off a section of the grandstand opposite the McLaren garage following complaints about abusive banners and chanting. Furthermore, there were reports, confirmed by a representative of Pitpass, that 'missiles were thrown whenever a McLaren left its garage and headed down the pitlane. Sadly, today, Sunday, the final day of the test, the abuse continues, and some of it is absolutely shameful to report. Yesterday, according the Spanish newspaper Marca, shouts of "puto negro" (f***ing black) and "negro de mierda" (black shit) were clearly heard, and that large sections of the crowd were involved. Today, as demonstrated in our exclusive pictures, the racist abuse continues. These people are not fans of F1, they are not even fans of Fernando Alonso, for they do neither their hero nor their country any good. Sadly, incidents of racism have plagued Spanish sport in recent years, most memorably football, but thankfully such insidious behaviour has never been part of Formula One, even though the media can be extremely partisan when it comes to certain drivers. Abusive banners were witnessed at both Jerez and Valencia, however, the whole matter appears to have taken a new, far nastier, twist. Perhaps, Fernando might be called upon to publicly distance himself from these so-called fans, for F1 doesn't need them.

Today the FIA have promised serious sanctions against the circuit de catalunya and the Spanish MSA. Good, maybe I won't have to sit through a 90 minute procession there this year, great track, shit racing.

Note as well, that Alonso, has not as yet made any such distancing or condemnation.

Maybe we should tell Dubya that Spain has oil...

then he will "liberate" them...

Don't they have a history of the same type of behavior with footballers as well???

Sorry, this kind of stuff doesn't get reported over here...

Is that in the same way that I 'liberated' your sphincter??

Ironically, these particular idiots seem to be having fun at a Formula 1 event. Surely this is the first recorded case of this happening?

Strange, heartbreaking in fact, to think that there are still parts of the civilised world where people perceive the word 'black' to be insulting. They are obviously not all there.

And anyone chucking things at an F1 car should be locked up. What a fucking stupid thing to do; could easily be seen as attempted murder.

I don't know why people pretend that racing drivers represent a particular country once they reach this level. I always think of it as a multinational sport; people from several countries work at the core of most teams. The drivers themselves hardly stay loyal to their countries of origin; mostly moving to tax havens in order to be with their friends and, you know, pay no tax back into the states that produced them.

So dressing up as a golliwog and risking a prison sentence for causing criminal damage or maybe even injuring someone is a measured response to a percieved slight on a former countrymen?

They're just wankers.

I dunno, I was 100% behind the Yanks when they chucked beers at the indy fiasco.

Lewis should nip up into the stands, in a fight, ALWAYS bet on the guy in the crash helmet.

Never understood Alonso......"I'm a world champ, and I'm better than Lewis, so give me a faster car" ermmmmmmm WHAT?

That's schumacher logic.

Not entirely sure starting a post ostensibly offering a critque of racism at a sporting event should really be entitled "Spanish people",eh?

Anyway, F1 is crap. Can we get back to cocks now?

In this instance no racial sterotyping is required, as the attitudes (not the racist ones, but the sudden psychotic interest in F1) are indeed aligned alon purely national lines.

F1 fact of the day. There is a part of a Grand Prix car called a Donkey Dick.

Sadly is does not seep delicious grassy cum like the real thing.

Grassy cum??!!?

:confused2:

[Good F1 factoid, though, Steve. You are redeemed. Even if F1 is not.]

Yer not wrong.

It's amusing that the fat fcuker on the right isn't joining in; probably because he's just spotted a burger stall he missed on the way in.

Racist humour can ruddy well wait until I've had my fill :food:

Add "widely" to that statment, I saw it on one of our local news channels, on ESPN, and it also made the front page of my home page the other day.

Something the Reverend T said above has been resurfacing in my mind.

Something about "people" thinking "black" is an insult. It took a few hours to soak in, but really that's all those spasmoids up there are doing...."oh, you're black". FFS like, are they 7? Lewis is being way to nice about it, I'd have got a loudhailer and yelled "actually, I'm a sort of deep tan to brown colour owing to higher levels of melanine in my skin. However, I cannot imagine your melanine deficiency[1] is in anyway responsible for your mental deficiencies".

I've changed my mind about how he should sort them too, he should have his FULL race kit on, including a 900 horsepower firebreathing carbon fibre rocket sled.

I read this after the racist story.....

While some will remember this weekend's test at Barcelona for the outrageous behaviour of a number of morons who gave the term 'race fans' a whole new meaning, it is our pleasure to report an incident that shows the caring side of the sport.

On entering the circuit early on Saturday morning, Dave Cornish, who looks after the McLaren motorhome at tests, couldn't help but notice a small girl with her nose pressed tight against the wire. Dave couldn't help but notice her because she was decked out in a set of McLaren overalls.

While certain parties were making their way to the track, offensive banners under one arm, book of racist taunts under the other, Dave invited the girl and her mother into the paddock for a closer look at her heroes.

Claudia (for that is her name), was given a guided tour of the McLaren set-up - which had been fenced off in order to prevent any unwelcome morons - and even got to meet with Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen. Furthermore, according to our source - who do you think took the pictures? - Lewis and Heikki didn't merely brush her off with a quick signature and a smile but actually took time out to chat to her.

Her mother subsequently sent an e-mail to the team on Sunday thanking them for their gesture.

"Thanks for what you have done for Claudia today," she wrote. "When she has come home she was so excited she could not explain to her sister what had happened. Thanks one more time."

Our picture shows a delighted Claudia and the man who made it all possible, Dave Cornish. Finally, please note that this is not a press release, in fact we're sure McLaren will be embarrassed and Dave might even get a rollicking for inviting Claudia and her mother in. However, we think it's a story worth sharing.

Brought a tear to my eye, genuinely. Can you IMAGINE what that's like for a kid?????

Maybe she should have done a lewis and told Ron she wanted a drive? Been a long time since Leila Lombardi and Giovanna Amatti :(

[1]after all, all our ancestors were african, so we're mutants.
