She's got a weekly column in the Guardian called "What Would Beth Ditto Do". Fuck knows why, they seem to think she'd give good advice like an agony aunt.
Each time I see it I shriek like a little girl, read it twice and then start running around moaning about it to anyone who'll listen.

The whole "isn't it just fab that a 'fat smelly lesbian' can become succesful these days....and isn't she sexy!!!" angle is ridiculous. Being unconventional, flamboyant and "out" in the music scene is hardly groundbreaking in the year 2008 is it? She's not exactly pushing back the boundaries of acceptability.
And as for being "so sexy" according to Kate Moss...Gis a break! She's obese, unhealthy and no less of a poor "body-image" role model for young girls as yer size zero models.
And musically, what has she done? One good song. My burd bought the album, utter shite. Can't comment on their first album but I suspect it'll be more of the same.
