I really know little of that situation, I'm only basing my thoughts off the youtube posted. I really don't see why a PM has to answer a pretentious, smug cnut.

The one thing about war is that it requires split second decisions that resonate throughout the world. They aren't easy to decide at the moment, but easy to understand looking through a rearveiw. ROE has its place, but sometimes adhering strictly to it can mean your men end up dead.

Though Thatcher might to be to blame, she wasn't really there to see for herself the situation. She had to take the word of those officers that were present.
