Have you ever seen the BBC2 show, 'Eggheads'?

How about putting together a NOOL team and applying to be on it?

The most that's been won was around £70k I think, the lowest you can win is £1k.

If you lose, you get nothing.

If a team of 5 of us went on and won, I vote that we divide the winnings into six - the sixth portion going to the upkeep of NOOL. Seriously, would anyone be interested in making up a team to go on this TV quiz?

They have categories: Sport, Geography, Science, Art & Literature, etc. a bit like 'Trivial Pursuit'.

The premise is:

A team of 'no-hopers' go up against a team of 'Eggheads' - World quiz champion, Winner of Mastermind, Winner of 15 to 1, etc.

You have individual knockout rounds, then whoever is left in your team answers general knowledge questions, competing against the remaining 'Eggheads'.

Any takers?

Please note, if you're from overseas, you're welcome to join the team of five, but you'd need to be able to actually get here. That means no Jeff. :(

Do you mean people whose heads look like eggs, or clever people? :D

I'd do it.

But seriously, i would not participate under a "NOOL" name or indeed anything New Order related.

That's fair enough. There are a lot of bloody bright people on here, go for it. Obviously I'll just watch on the telly

Count me in Nash.

You know I'm number one on the team sheet.

Me, Burt and Liam... Come on Jem, we need a bit of glamour...! Unless of course, Minx would like to join in?

How about Al J? Rocket Mick? Ally? Gaz?

EDIT: Liam - what would you suggest as a team name? Nothing rude, mind... :nono:

Oh god.. not a team name.... Sporting Lesbian Or Inter Me Nan is out then.

In the unlikely event of us progressing beyond umpteen regional heats, and actually make it onto the programme, I can just imagine some c___ recording it on YouTube and sticking it up on here, forever, as we get humiliated by a load of coffin dodgers, one of whom looks like Miss Marple, and another looks like he's a dustman.

I'm still in though. :thumb:

They've got two Miss Marples, two dustman lookalikes and a coiffured erm... person. If we lost, the shame would be embarrassing, but at least we could say we did it to help out NOOL financially, which is more than 98% of the 27,000 members have done so far.

hmmm, sounds a bit like University Challenge, but if I wasn't able to make it over the last round of NO gigs, I don't think I'll make it over for this Chris...

In that case, why not come over and win it for us? As long as no one asks about geography, history or politics :evil4:  They don't do debates...

I almost forgot, we need Stevie C. for the science questions... Mr. Invincible... Maybe I should just manage the team...

EDIT: I'm a 'seppo' and I don't even know what it means

After doing a quick search of airfares, I can see the dollar ain't what it used to be.

First trivia question of the day! "Seppo" is slang for "Septic Tank," which is Cockney for "Yank."

Geddit? :deal:

Of course, not really a trivia question in the U.K. is it?

Not being a cock er knee, I wouldn't have a clue

EDIT: I did wonder if it was slang for 'wank' though... as in, 'He's gone for a septic'.

So you're a Barney then... Well bugger that, I'm taking the Gretton stance. You're all sacked. I'll do it on my own. As long as we can fight the 'Eggheads' if it comes to a draw...

Seriously, if people want to actually do this, I'll send in an application this week.

We've got to have our very own Doctor - that leaves one place in the team...

you dont want 5 people good on trivia, you want one expert on each of the topics, each to have a good grounding in trivia
