...swear I could have choke slammed that idiot.... can I handle his order..... he couldn't handle some of the situations I've been under, he'd piss his wee pants....

...good thing I was at work, it kept me civil...

I can't remember what line of work you're in but if it was food, I hope you gobbed in it!

Yep, food for the time being, waiter at a microbrew resturant... not one to do anything to anyone's food, though I've thought about it on occasion... if I were going to do something to him, I'd prefer him to know it, like grabbing the back of his head and slamming it into the table... but not worth loosing the job over...

Actually what helped most was he reminded me of my brother-in-law when he was a younger ass... turned out a great guy... (unfortunately he passed last year)... so just kept in my mind I was dealing with him and it helped me keep my cool.:thumb:

How come if I want to watch a decent Comedy I have to watch UK Gold or whatver obscure Digital Channell Desmonds is on>? Adrian Edmonson, part of two of the fucking greatest TV shows ever, is now reduced to doing some shite on ITV. While the BBC's main comedy is MY FAMILY. The most unfunniest comedy since barbara polluted the airwaves on ITV a few years ago. The best comedy this decade has been The Thick Of It, (buried in the schedules on a Channel no one eatches) or The Vicar of Dibley, and even that was a reunion. Pulling isnt funny. It does however, have nice women (which was the same reason coupling was watchable). The last truly funny thing to come down the pike was Green Wing. Where are the truly classic comedies like Men Behaving Badly, Only Fools and Horses, The Royle Family, Father Ted, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Porridge, One Foot In The Grave, Yes Minister, Drop the Dead Donkey, Red Dwarf etc etc. Its fucking bullshit that this country is inept at producing a decent sitcom these days. If i want towatch something lighthearted for a change I have to go to UK Gold. fucking disgraceful.

the thick of it is genius. coupling was NOT watchable. pulling is brilliant - utterly hilarious. at last a sitcom that gives lie to the myth that women aren't funny.

Wish someone fuckin' would! If one of the chavs took offence and stuck the nut on him, it would be lovely!

Noel Edmonds too! Deal or no cunting Deal. What a waste of airtime that pile of wank is

What myth?

Dodjem wrote: Oi

No. Seriously. What myth? I seem to remember Victoria Wood being quite funny, and popular a few years back. And what about Caroline Aherne? and Kathy Burke? And Arabella Weir?

Just because the likes of Jenny Eclair are all over telly on those nostalgia programmes, doesnt mean there is a "myth" that Women arent funny.

I mean women in general. If anybody were to meet my friend, she is without a doubt the funniest person I've met. Sharp humour, very witty and usually has us rolling round the pub.

are you saying there is no myth or it is not a myth?

either way, you're wrong.

no joke

There only myth that exists is the the one constructed by self pitying feminists believing that there is a myth that everyone thinks women are unfunny.

Of course, if people are believing Christopher Hitchens when it comes to Comedy, then these peole shut just be sectioned.

The times I've laughed my arse off at Absoultely Fabulous, French and Saunders, Fawlty Towers, The Royle Family, The Fast Show, etc etc obviously dont count.

hitch didn't invent this line, it's a long-standing - if commonly derided - cultural assumption that he used as the basis for his piece. find it hard to believe you've never come across it before.

i feel sure women all over the world thank you for your chuckles at said shows, and breathe a huge collective sigh of relief that the battle for equality is therefore obviously won.

What a bizarre conversation. I'm stunned that anyone would suggest that funniness was gender-specific.

It isn't, and that's that.

Gigs.

Well, things at gigs. Firstly, KIDS. Or indeed, anyone under the age of 21.

Back in november 06, me and my best mate Andrew were down the front for Muse at the MEN. muse are incredible live, and if you have any clue at all you will know that people arent just going to stand down the front bopping their head or tapping their feet. what do i see after two songs? I see some little bitch crying her eyes out because its too rough. I've never seen anything quite so PATHETIC in all my life. and its not like this just happens at Muse gigs. When Morrissey did the Apollo two years ago, there was this girl in the queue on her own, said she'd seen Morrissey before, big fan etc etc. During first of the Gang to Die, which was the FIRST song, she was carried out crying. What on earth do these people expect?

And its not even limited to kids. Some bitch has taken it upon herlsef to set up This website because she got pushed a little bit when in the front row for Brian wilson at Glastonbury in 05.

If you cant stand the heat, its not a case of getting out of the kitchen, its case of dont be a fucking moron and go in their in the first place. If you dont want to be pushed around a little bit, then go and get a nice seat in the MEN and watch Katie fucking Melua.

Kids at gigs: Shouting out for the most obvious of cuking songs all fuckming gig. Yes, Muse will play Knights of Cydonia, stop fucking shrieking. And no, I will not move so I can watch you and your girlfriend make out all gig. Whats all that about anyway? Going to a gig and then not watching any of it because your too busy attempting to lick your girlfriends tonsils? You see these dickheads all the time (well, you do if you go to gigs regularly, so that rules out 95% of out American members!) and they look really smug, with that look on that face saying "hah! look at me I'm going to get laid tonight" and i just want to say "listen son, i dont care, your putting on a substandard making out show, you've paid for two people to be here, no one gives two pieces of crap about you, and as soon as a fast song comes on, I'm jumping into to you and knocking you over you cocksucker" seriously, people go to a gig not to watch it. Why? What are these people thinking? Stay at home, save your money. No One cares.

Speaking of which. Whats with some blokes creating an exclusion zone around their women? Have you ever seen anything quite so SAD in your life? I cant remember what gig it was, i think it was Franz Ferdinand a few years ago where I saw one guy holding the crowd back like a security guard, while holding onto his missus. what a sad cunt. You see it all the time these days. You just want to go up to these people and tell them how foolish they look.

Aye , during Doves' set at Manchester V Cancer 2006 this snotty "indie" girl kept moaning at people in the mosh, telling them to stop jostling and shoving around.I was pushed from behind a number of times and couldn't help but be pushed into her a couple of times which she took very badly:lol: Fuck sake , IT'S.A.FUCK.ING.MOSH.PIT !:banghead:

I forget which gig in Rocktober, but I'm sure it was one of the Glasgow dates, I jostled to the front for the start and got a spot right in front of Hooky. This girl turned and gave me a dirty look, I think she'd been there from the support acts. Then, I think they launched into Ceremony so I started getting in the spirit of things and she started pushing me. I was in such a good mood I let it go. Then the next song she was making it obvious that I was doing her head in. I asked her 'why are you here if you don't like your space being invaded?', she put her head down for a bit. Then ten mins later she turned and shouted something to me and I finally lost it and told her to fuck off.

And she did.

I'm not usually so aggressive but for Gods sake, why go in the mosh pit and not expect to be shoved about?

Absolutely! :thumb:

I'll always remember the group of teenage girls standing near the front for the first Versus Cancer gig. Me & Ally had deicded to go to the front, but these girls started complaining because I was tall... Erm, okay, go in front of us then...

They didn't even last one song!

No sympathy for those that are adult enough to move about, like say at a concert. But what is with the fucks go to child areas (like amusements parks, zoos, etc.) that are really tall, and stand right in front of my kids so they can't see the event going on. Usually these people have no children at all, and give such an attitude when I ask if my kids can get in front of them.... as if my kids are disruption for them... and for fucks sake, these are kids events, not something adults should be so childish over....
