Don't even know if I already posted my faves, but 2010 wins by at least 12 AU's Others would include.... Meet the Feebles Bad Taste Grand Prix (though the "onboard" stuff ruins it as much of it was shot from a GT40, or a cobra or some other Le-Mans-tastic sports car, a fast car, but still a tractor compared to an F1 car. The words of the actors are paraphrases of things the drivers said when interviewed (many of them, including Graham Hill are in the movie), I love the line about sitting in a tiny coffin full of petrol, and of course....."There is no terrible way to win, there is only winning".

("Le Mans" particularly the first 20 mins, and "Winning" are also good racing movies).

Princess Bride is hilarious so that's in. 24HPP too, laughed my balls off beginning to end.

And to go full circle....2001 which although visually breathtaking and still totally unsurpassed, the fact that Kubrick, despite being involved from day ONE, managed to forget to include the storyline, makes it always the inferior to 2010 in my eyes (and 2001 didn't have Roy Scheider natch).

Don't watch a lot of movies, there's some fundamental conflict caused by, my microscopic attention span[1], the prediliction all movies have for being one of Harlan Ellion's "8 stories", and the fact that pace seems to be a real issue in cinema, a harder target to hit than in TV.

As for Star Wars.......... Didn't like it much as a kid, or now. Preferred and prefer the True Master.....as someone once said "george lucas? Hmmmmmppfff, everything he did, Gerry Anderson did first, and better". Got asked (told) to leave a screening (albeit in a house) of Ep3 (I think), because after not very long, I leapt to my feet, screeched "oh FOR FUCK'S FUCKING SAKE.........." and went into a 2 minute, almost one breath, monolgue about just how much fetid sheep spunk we'd all just watched. I think the scene that did it for me, was when a ship, supposedly in orbit was damaged. Not only did it begin to go nose down like a plane or boat or something...which I could JUST deal with as a possible result of weapon impact.....but people began sliding to the front along the corridors. Honestly I nearly wept it was so bad. NOTE: if you are wondering why, don't ask, you will not like the answers.

(can you tell.....I'm back at work, and I've just got home, and OH LOOOOOK, a huge ever growing pulsating post that rules from the centre of the steveverse)

I think it was 96 when Schumacher slid off into a rediculously small runoff area, executed a perfect little donut and rejoined the track with about as much cool as I've seen anyone do anything.

But, as I was wittering on about, it was what was happening whilst I was watching it that made it most memorable.
