Firefox 3

for those who are using Firefox 2, Firefox 3 is now out, fully fledged release, but I have noticed a few bugs on it Firefox 3

Whats the difference between this and IE7?

no, but firefox does, ff3 has it inbuilt

Firefox 2 did as well. I've been using it for ages and I think it's great.

I first downloaded it I found that IE7, shipped with my Vista laptop, didn't support my company's webmail application and I've used it ever since.

Funny how the Firefox spellchecker doesn't contain the words Firefox or spellchecker. Or webmail

Downloaded mine today. To be quite honest, F3 reminds me of Safari.

Hopefully, when people see the open model working, they'll expand beyond browsers.

Does everything photoshop can (and covers a fair few of it's expensive plugins as well), all for free.

(note, experienced photoshop users will HATE it because the interface is different, I do not blame them for this, I'm fucking useless with Logic Audio, and CakeWalk.....if it aint cubase, I'm all at sea)

had it a while, was missing the google toolbar, but that app launched this week :D

It's available for DOS-XP and DOS-Vista too though, so that those less fortunate than you and I can also use it.

How are you finding Ubuntu BTW, I liked the look of it, but it gave me grief trying to install mplayer, so I did a sulking reboot and haven't been back (it's on the same PC as Gentoo, and a clapped out old windows install).

Tried Beryl/Compiz yet?

been fine so far, though installation was hell on earth, then it was the fact I am using a hyperthreading cpu for it, it wasnt using it by default...another configuration....another problem solved, only to be irritated by another problem, it wouldnt shut down properly, well got that sorted out, and so far so good, all is swell, though I want to learn abit more in the terminal command list, just to used to windows though

I am using Firefox 3 and I am stunned at how fast it renders web pages!! I have always liked the clean interface and FF3's UI is simple as can be. FF is also much more stable than IE will ever be.

I have both FF3 and IE7 on my computer. Their UIs are quite similar tho different. I almost always use FF3 but the occasional site, usually banking sites etc. are IE only.

IE7 is so integrated into the Windows OS if most normal folks tried to remove it, Baby Windows would throw a meltdown fit similar to my 18 month old niece-Not Pretty.

FF3 it has different things from IE7, like addon themes extra addons, both has its strenghts and weaknesses, but I use both for different reasons

Strange you say that, because all the "specialists" I know say to use Firefox to visit banks sites.

I don't visit my bank, my credit card, or my computer bits pusher in windows at all. And I always type the URL by hand. Means that I'm really only open to DNS spoofing as an actack vector.

Mine has been closing down a bit with 'unexpected failure' messages. Never had this before. The messages are always very polite though, so I'm not too offended.

Come to think of it, my Vista laptop has been acting a little strange recently. It's been taking longer to turn on in the mornings and sometimes it's mind seems to be on something else. It's probably just hanging around with me so much.

I'll think about re-installing everything, perhaps.

I rather like FF3 so far, but as usual, my fave theme and extension don't work with the new version yet.

The theme I can live without, but I am missing my RSS ticker for live feeds at the bottom, I find that to be a much handier way to check out the latest news.

The developer of that extension reports that it works with 3, and a commenter on his page has praised him as well, but I received the 'incompatibility' message when I tried to install it. I'll be checking out the help forums tomorrow to pinpoint the problem.

i am sure you can add the all in one sidebar, that will give you some more addons if you wanted to add them
