That certain people shouldnt bother looking for a partner in life after a certain age, and what age is that do you reckon?
Do you think?

I don't think its an age, more an attitude. If the person no longer puts any care to change or has any desire to make themselves more attractive then they shouldn't be out trying to get into a relationship...

ok, how to make yourself more attractive then?
Women care little about looks. Sure they help in the first few moments, but women (especially close to your age) look for stability and security. Confidence is the initial tell-tale for a woman if a guy is stable or not. Show confidence and half the battle is won. What clothes you wear (more importantly, shoes and watch) give insight to your security. Also have confidence in getting rejection... sometimes rejection doesn't mean its over, many times its used as a defense to see what reaction the guy has... this time is crucial. Conversation is important, so have some things to talk about that they can relate to.
and of course getting the conversation going is important. I think many guys build up so much courage to intially start a conversation, and when it fails they are crushed. My personal defense against this was to expect to be shot down. I would give a compliment, and if I got a negative reaction, I didn't care. My intention was to give them acknoledgement that what they were doing (wearing, etc) was working. If I didn't move forward I didn't care because my initial goal was reached and wasn't reliant on thier reaction.
numbers is important as well. Even when I was at my peak at picking up women, I still had a 1 to 3 ratio... meaning I got shot down more than I moved forward... expect it... but I couldn't get that one date if I didn't try at least three times.
and above all, remember the golden rule... treat the woman the opposite that every guy treats her (this is different for every woman, so you need to study the individual a little before striking).
It makes you stand out and says -hey this guy is different.
EDIT: Forget about clothes, just go for a nice analog watch (no Timex or Casio!) and a nice pair of shoes (no running shoes!)... girls barely notice clothes as much since lots of guys have "the pick-up outfit"... clothes are temporary for that night, a watch says -what style you have, if you have money--- a watch is a commitment (since people rarely change to a new one for years), clothes are temporary...
Dont think its particularly difficult, it will either happen or it wont. Just do normal everyday things and if theres a mutual attraction then great. Generally if nothing at all is happening within the first 10 seconds, and there is no reaction or she vomits on you, then walk away. As long as your youthful enough to bag someone pre-menopausal dont think age is a huge problem.

Dont think you can really, all the jogging and health spas in the world wont transform a fat 45 year old accountant (apologies if you are an accountant)so stick to what you know and enjoy.

what? you think i go around like a tramp do you? also, if i date them, its always at the back of the restaurant/bar/cafe, meaning to me, that they want to hide away the fact that i am going on a date with them
so please, no patronising on the way i dress, there is nothing wrong with the way i dress, its them and not me

anyone who says age is a problem is living in cloud cookoo land, and are obviously paranoid, I tried to date this 21yo, who literally asked me for £50, not much, but considering the fact that it was suppose to be the first date, its insulting....then the playing of games, one minute london, next luton, then back to london, oh no lets go back to luton, then i said to her that i am not interested in meeting her, she started whinging about some lame excuses, so i put the phone down and that was that

My apologies if it sound patronizing, that wasn't my intent. I have never met you or know how you look/dress. I was trying to break it down as I don't know exactly where your specific issue(s) is. I wanted to give a thoughtful response, not just a vague "go get them" response.
Your response of 'its them not me' is tricky. You are probably correct on this to a certian degree, but at the same time if it is the normal response of women, then there is something you are doing as well that could be improved upon.
It is hard to give you a perfect response as I only know a few things about you that you mentioned in the past.
- You are under the impression that you are not good looking.
- You are nervous around women.
- You play the friend role more than a date role around women.
If I am wrong on these interpretations, please correct me... but my past responses were under these assumptions.
No reason to snap at someone who is genuinely trying to be helpful...
To answer the original post, I don't erally think there is an age when someone should quit looking for a partner. If someone is 70 and wants to find someone, who am I to say no? Obviously, a 70 year old will be looking for different things than a 21 year old...
Have to say, I do agree with most of what Edelbrock said. Confidence and outgoingness (is that a word?) are more important than looks, though not looking like a slob would help. Money don't hurt, either.

so when a person asks for £50 so she could meet up for the first date, would you give it to her?

I would say fine, if I could get a blowjob before the 1st date as well...

which i doubt would ever happen

my point was that both questions mean about the same thing from opposite perspectives...
maybe a better response would be "so that's what blowjobs go for these days?"![]()

Guns, and lots of them. Preferably Assault Rifles or Rocket Launchers. And the knowledge of how to make $600 dollars go a long way. But mainly, Guns.

Men get stuck in their ways after a certain age - 30? after that its very difficult to change us.

That's easy, don't tell 'em until you've known for a while! ![]()
(Although pretending you like James Blunt or Mika is taking it a bit TOO far!) :p

Age is just a number. It's all in your outlook on life. I really believe that there is someone out there for everyone. I know a woman who did not get married until she was 51 years old.
Oh, and my husband HATES the music I listen to and he married me anyway, so differences in musical taste are not necessarily a deal-breaker. My husband just tunes it out. LOL
I think I've realised what the problem might be...
Attitude and outlook.
Expect nothing, you'll get nothing. Weirdly enough, women are people too, so just treat them how you'd want to be treated.
There's no cut off age. The last person to ask me out was 22 and I'm 40 FFS...

How many dates have you had? It is a numbers game, the more people you meet the better the odds that you'll find someone that you like and who likes you back, the ones that go nowhere are useful as practise or for anecdotes or for slagging off with your mates.
