From the BBC commentary:

1405:: Blimey - it's all going off in the taekwondo. Former Olympic champion Angel Valodia Matos has been expelled for kicking his match referee in the head after he was disqualified from his bronze medal play-off match.

Sadly he got expelled from all international competition for life. Great entertainment though. One for Ally McCoist on 'Whats Happened Next?' on the Christmas edition of a Question of Sport methinks.

Question of Sport is nothing without David Coleman.

Considering what he did must be some kind of assault under Chinese Law, I wonder if he'll get in trouble with the law.

Loved the other guy though. Running around dancing with the flag afterwards!

With the number of records that have been broken I think every measurement of track, length of pool, etc needs checking. I wouldn't put it past the chinese to make sure the pool was a foot short making sure records were set all the time. :)

Boris Johnson didn't quite embarass himself and Great Britain but it was close.Could of gone either way.Started to put his hands in his blazer pockets a couple of times then withdrew them.Really thought he was going to drop the Olympic flag.

As for the double decker bus. That was supposed to be the London skyline cut in greenery? Glad the commentator told us because i wouldn't have recognised it otherwise

It's probably all CGI animations, the same as Usain Bolt.

A load of people fighting to get a place on the overcrowded London red bus.... not a good sign

On a brighter note.I was hoping the school crossing lady was gonna whip off her Hi-Viz coat at one point :evil4:

Olympics, I shit em.

Never mind all this freeform interpretation of multiculturalism and fireworks bollocks. The opening and closing ceremonies have become entirely separate to Games themselves and are an unwelcome intrusion into the event for anyone actually interested in sport and competition and, you know, the Games themselves. David fucking Beckham, for christ's sake? What the fuck has he got to do with the spirit of amateur sport? Fuck all, that's what. Stupid fucking bastard. And watching fat Boris Johnson waving a fucking flag around while the athletes themselves are packing away their sports socks? It's a bastard insult to anyone that's devoted four years of their lives to the real preparations.

London 2012 should avoid all this over-priced and irrelevant bollocks. They should start the Games by blowing a whistle and end by blowing the same whistle, twice. They won't, of course. They'll employ as many choreographers and dancers as there are athletes and judges, spend as much on special effects and computer graphics as they do on stadiums and sports drinks and the games (and London) will be poorer for it.

Leave the glitter bombs and backcombing for Eurovision and get on with the sport.

There, I've said it.

The Olympics were class!

The team GB monicker sucks cock,a tinsy bit though.

We'll have an interesting, probably, shit to middleing football team for London 2012,but it's summat to look forward to,innit?..But if they HAVE to include Scots lads in the side, dear god,we will become the Eddie the Eagle Edwards of world football..Playing one up front, with plucky James Macfadden ploughing a lonely furrow

The London Games will be a festival of pyrotechnicians and dancers whose only gigs since the Commonwealth have been weddings in Rhyl and handing out flyers at Meadowhall.

Sport will be a sideshow.
