windows discrimination

so i muddle over to download itunes ya know and i have windows 2000 as an operating system (somehow downgraded from windows xp through the loss of a motherboard) the following is the screen that popped up onto my desktop whilst seeing if itunes would take to my os.

had me thinking...all windows operating systems are all the same. except the fuckers are supposed to be bigger and better every time a new one is released, they are not. they a r e not. bill gates in his fucking glass house and this shit of updating the os system til it mutilates every computer all over. so this thing of only letting certain os in on certain programs. for the birds.

Windows "upgrades" make your machine slower. Imagine spending £200 on a new hardware component that made your machine slower....you;d send it back.....wrapped in Semtex. Yet we bend over and spread our cheeks for Billie boy.

And any distinction between 2k and Xp is totally artificial.

If anyone buys a new pc it's gonna have vista on it.. and it's shite.. but it's alot of fuckin about to replace vista with XP.. got two pc's one in my front room and 1 for in my sons in his bedroom.. can't seem to get a wired shared connection to my sons bedroom since I got vista..(he's still got XP).. any ideas?

What problems are you running into? Easiest would to run it through a router... they should network fine together, my wife's XP talks fine with my Vista...

Another vote for a router. Windows connection sharing has always been "sub optimal", a cheap multiport modem/router is by far the better idea.

Vista really is painful. I dual boot, cos I play a couple of DX10 games (mainly crysis), and cos I want to use 3dmark vantage to bench the beast.

But I could never never use it day-day.....any wonder ubuntu downloads are going through the roof.

The only positive thing I can say about Vista is that it doesn't TOTALLY fuck your performance. Generally, with previous version "upgrades" one could guarantee that framerates would be halved. Vista represents on a slight gaming performance loss, and in fact I've tried a couple of things that ran 1-5% quicker in vista. It's just desktop performance it's wrecked.
