Nah. They're alright, but just alright. Place was mobbed but there just wasn't the intensity that I think New Order have had in recent years - well, maybe not New Order, but at least New Order fans. I 'borrowed' Ally's ticket near the end to meet a mate then walk him back in on Ally's ticket right the way to the front with no grief. Even at the worst New Order gig in recent year you couldn't make your way through the crowd!

Doves are technically better than New Order, but I still just don't geddit.

More interesting prospect was the Manics. Wasn't busy but they had a right 'ardcore down the front of 17 year old girlies all wearing leopard skin and/or feather boas. Now, that's what I call a firm!!!

i'd agree with manics live now on anything.saw them at glaso around 1999 and they were ok (ish),saw them glaso last year, much improved,no,they were fucking great actually.but ive always found doves very consistant over the many years ive seen them.i think i know what you mean though, none of them or many other groups have a footy type excited crowd like the order had

It's better

Leggy D told me so it must be true.

Exactly the same setlist as Johnny posted though.

I've just got in. It's been a long night!

But, at least I got to meet this girl from Nathan Barley...

...who I was desperately trying to work out where we knew each other from ...

.. until her more famous friend turned up and gave her a cheeky squeeze...

.. at which point I went "You're from Nathan Barley!" and she went, "Yeah, I am, but he isn't!"

Ac-tors! :nonono:

Ah yes i remember her from Nathan Barley.Always wished they'd have done a second series of that.Just a second wouldn't have been too much to ask would it? Ok, maybe not 3 because that may have killed it but 2 would have been good.

As for the lad, didn't he appear in I'm Alan Partridge? he worked at the Travelodge?

Doves fans.not sure about them :skeptic: .Saw Doves at Birmingham Academy in 2002 and the audience was all young early 20s just chatting and choppsing about crap all through the gig - not really moshing or moving at all really!!.Then when i saw them at Manc v Cancer 2006 the girl in front was moaning about people pushing her, erm, in the moshpit. So i've not formed a great opinion of Doves fans.

yeah, james lance. also from teachers and the book group.

him and her are both in a new sitcom, along with the bloke who played nathan barley and some other familiar faces. looks quite promising.
