YOU are in Blackheath on bonfire night?.. Christ. That's a bit too close.
Just don't wake the dead with all that banging.

Suddenly bonfire night sounds quite a bit more intriguing...

Errmmm... not really.
Just to explain, Blackheath is called Blackheath, cos all the plague victims are buried there (I think 6 million(?)). Its a big wide open space which you cant build on.
I'm busy I'm afraid. Got a bargeload of barrels here that some Spanish geezer wants me to deliver to the steps near Westminster bridge.

I'll be in the sky somewhere............
and no, not on a rocket, in a rocket, or even with Rocket! :)
My local bonfire has been cancelled due to health and safety ![]()
However, there will still be an expensive and impressive firework display.
I'm also going for the pie and peas (with red cabbage) and maybe room for a little Parkin.
Love it.

Whats Parkin?
Are you setting me up for a joke?
It's either:
a) What you do with your car when you want to get out
or
b) A lovely moist ginger cake that is traditionally made at this time of year
I'm going to burn a picture of Jemma!
Of course, I don't know when Bonfire night is...and I'm too damn lazy to look it up...
so I'll probably forget!!!

I thought it was because The Heath (soil and plants) were a darker colour than the fields round the Thames that it overlooked? :)
When I went there last Friday, however, I didn't notice any difference! :p

It's where we celebrate the fact that a bloke (Guy Fawkes) nearly blew up Parliament on 5th November, but didn't quite succeed.
So, we light a bonfire (placing a "guy" [a dummy, not a real person!] - to represent Guy Fawkes - in the middle of the fire) and set off fireworks... Hmmm... ![]()
And, of course, it doesn't appear to be limited to 5th November - people set off fireworks for about a month around that date (and beyond, as Christmas/New Year celebrations coincide) which annoys all the neighbour's cats/dogs!
