Talk about splitting a crowd......

In Glasgow on Saturday December 13th we have

DF presents The Hacienda Warehouse Party featuring Happy Mondays, ACR, 808 State etc at The Printworks (capacity 5000)

Regular Music presents Primal Scream at the SECC (capacity 5000)

Colours presents The Complete Stone Roses at the Carling Academy (capacity 2600)

What a monumental fuck up on the part of the promoters. Three events targetting and almost identical crowd. The Complete Stone Roses gig has been on sale for months and is almost a sell out taking 2500 potential punters away from both the Scream and The Hac party. If those two gigs reach even 40% capacity I'll eat my hat.

There will be a depleted contingent from Aberdeen Order at the Hac thing. I've got a familee thing that I can't miss.

That's REALLY bad planning

Didn't you know that in these transitory times, as the conventional 'family' model breaks down and becomes increasingly irrelevant that our friends become our family? We may work to live, live in soul-less ghettos for the dispossesed and seek fleeting satisfaction from individualised drug abuse but we've always got our mates.

So fuck yer 'family' is what I'm trying to say. You've probably dissapointed most of them throughout your life anyway anyway. You'll never disapoint me though. See you the 13th. :thumb:

Hmmmm, I remember something like this in Belfast one night, 3 really big names at club nights, a couple of good electronic bands in proper venues and at least two ghastly Top40 acts to mop up the sheep. Such a thing is more New York than Belfast, I mean there was more shit going on that night than in the average YEAR. Somewhat tragic then, that a certain bunch of electron torturers had spent about £800-£1000 of their hard-earned on flyers and big ass sound systems and even some lights (OK I let my GF who was all artsy and a bit mental have a 500W UV spot to play with). Our audience? Our mates+4 crusties who got in free cos they knew the crusties who ran the place.

I may add we played on the fourth floor of a building with no lift, and no roadies.

So, while worrying about where you'll be going on this impending night of wonders....spare a thought for the pricks who'll be playing to 2 barmaids and big Dave the doorman.
