Bunch of queers. I aint been to the doctor this side of the millenium, haven't vommited since 1991 (that was a vomiting session to end all vommiting sessions mind you) and haven't missed a days work due to anything ever.

Having always been both self employed and an employer I really cant get my head round the whole 'sick pay' and 'holiday pay' thing. Especially for lazy part-timers taking the piss. If you don't work you don't get paid. Dead easy.

I do. And have been doing since September.

And proper pay as well. As in a wage. Not benefits or anything like that.

Actually, i tell a lie. I had to go to uni yesterday for the 4th time this pay month. Everyone had to do a little presentation on examples of good practice we had carried out over the last few months.

I said "Well, I'm quite good at GTA 4, and i think i've mastered the making of Pork Pies"

Gotta love the home office. If they hadnt lost my file... And Edge Hill admissions.

Well, I seem to have picked up one of those colds that just makes you lethargic - started with a sore throat on Tuesday, but doesn't seem to have migrated into a coughing fit (unusual, since I smoke!)...

Haven't taken time off work, though, but do still feel "run down"...

Ah well, another lemsip is due... :)

I had a chest infection a couple of months ago, but didn't go to the Doctors at the time. When I did, because I couldn't get rid of the cough, he told me off! At my age!

It was nowhere near as bad as having a wisdom tooth removed though - that was really reallypainful.

Hmmmmm........hate to tell you this - but the coughing fits will begin any day now........sorry!

Don't forget to put a spoonful of honey in your Lemsip - or a drop of whisky - it helps (apparently).

I've nothing against people taking a dive from work. It can be inconsiderate and an inconvenience for all concerned but I'm not offended by it morally. We're all mercenaries after all, loyalty to the company etc is a tool of control. I just don't understand why anybody should expect to get paid for it by said company. SSP should be all your entitled to. I don't see why employers should have to put their hand in their pocket. That's what we all pay NI for surely?

Not had a day off work for nigh on 9 years! Most probably because the b*stards don't pay you sick pay for the first 3 days you are off. Management get paid from day one though.

Havent had a sickie in a couple of years, though i was very prone to them, but have turned over a new leaf. For the past two weeks i have had a bad cough with periods of general cold like symptoms, woke up this morning feeling like shit, just seems to go round in circles. Should go to the Doc but he may give me anti biotics and i have a night out on sat, so dont want to spoil that.

Lot's of cream-egg sized puss filled sacks, and it feels like someone's poured acid on my balls. I'm down to one month to go on the VERY last attempt to get rid of it with pills, if it doesn't go is Mr Knife, which'll mean fuckin weeks imobilized. I don't DO retricted motion, and REALLY don't relish the thought of someone having to wipe my arse for me.......I wasn't planning on that for another 40 years!

Not the only part of your head that's unwell.

i,ve had cold for about 2 weeks now and cant seem to shift it! Straight to me chest as i'm a dirty smoker,no time off for me tho!

Dont really do the time off thingy,had a serious accident at work where i smashed me thumb to bits so had to have an operation and had to have 3 months of rehab,drove me fookin nuts it did....

I'm still not well.
