Some idiot wrote into the Metro (free london paper) and defended Karen Matthews by saying she wasnt pure evil, she was only selfish, greedy and untrustworthy (that sounds like a shop lifter to me and not someone who drugged their daughter for 2 years fed her crisps for dinner and makes her disappear). apparently pure evil only relates to murderers, rapists and peodo's.

Mentally ill? I must have missed something here. Has she been sectioned, has she fu*k. She knew exactly what she was doing. Its the rest of her family I feel for (although unsurprisingly her own mother has disowned her).

I'm not sure she's mentally ill but she's definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer at any rate. Well anyone who realistically tries to pull off what she tried to has to be a bit of a low watt bulb.

As Col said, from some of the comments in the low rent tabloid rags and even some of the comments on here you are sometimes left wondering what's more depressing, the fact she did that to her own daughter or the reaction it brings out in ordinary members of the public.

I believe the points were that she's not actually evil scum, just a poor sick woman. Which I vehemently disagree with.
