Lumps of indie mashed together/quiet-loud dynamics/some chords. Thats basically all they are, same as that Pink Floyd. As individuals they are about as boring as they come too. You northern chaps once you get a nourishing meal you really know how to put a rock back together.

I concur, I tried to get into them, but I find even trying to listen to the vocals is straining.

They're almost as tedious as you.

But not quite.

I'll go with that. Not only are they dull beyond belief, they are also one of Britains most overrated bands. Music for people who don't realy like music,a bit like Dido and James Blunt.

Radiohead are not Northern. It's South. South of Oxford, in fact.

I agree with you about them being poo though. Mizzheads.

Public school-boys from Abingdon. Surely the very epitome of what it is to be 'Southern'.

Proper white man's muzak though, innit? Thought Ravi would love all that. (Admittedly, slightly namby-pamby studenty white man's muzak, but white man's muzak all the same).

Bollocks!! The album "The Bends" is one of the best albums ever!! They always end up in the same category as The Smiths and Joy Division - ie dull and depressing music. But then I guess some folk don't appreciate good music and well written songs.

come off it, there's loads of duller bands. they've got at least a handful of pretty fantastic songs - including last year's 'nude' - and that video for 'just' was great.

I dunno.. they are more than capable of banging out an album of sing-along hits, but if they did they'd be accused of selling out. Out of their recent stuff, I have a soft spot for Faust Arp, and House of Cards.

For a recent rockout with an ace and sublimely arty video depicting the evils of capitalism, then it has to be 2+2=5. Ravi will probably like that one, if they jazzed it up with some gay Italo-house SAW piano.

You gotta be in the mood to listen to them, I guess.
I tried to get into OK Computer but I just cannot grasp what all the fuss is about.

In Rainbows had a few amazing songs though.

I love Street Spirit. I play this one a lot lately.

The Radiohead "electronica lite" aspect is way overrated, not their strong point. If they claim they were inspired by Autechre and Aphex Twin, it's hard to see it.

But they do have some good songs, and they have the moody teenage angst thing down well.

Boring? What about Coldplay? They gotta be more boring than Radiohead. And Pearl Jam?

For me,it's a toss up between Jembo,Al and you who to quote on this thread! You've won this game of Ip Dip Cow Shit,negros....

However, thus far no mention of Tom York's hardly subtle, lazy as fuck eye,by any cunt...

I hate their Ceremony cover..I like Echoing Green's cover of Ceremony...the female vocalist and the keyboards are nectar. Most New Order covers are shite,I love this bitch.Who knows it?

I grafted looking for more Echoing Green material on the strength of it infact.Found loads, and would'nt you know it...they were fucking rubbish, but for that one song, not even theirs...Dems da fuckin breaks:shrug:

Coldplay, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, it all sounds a bit daft to me. Theres little to no coherence in song structure, bt thats just me. Also, Chris Martin thinks its cool to name hiks daughter after Martinis.

Ravi Ears,refrain from quoting me.

I see you have deleted yourself,in fear of me reigning utter terror no doubt, bottle job.

I choose not to engage you anyway,as ever...

aside of the curious spelling, I took this to mean that: radiohead are boring AND southern, whereas at least you can find a decent and interesting musical feast from the north.

no point beating the chap with the wrong end of the stick.

however, radiohead are not the most boring band in the world. they CAN be boring but are fairly unpredictable and have a decent arsenal of older tunes in their back cat. [but I bet they would predictably play the boring ones live...?]

Bollocks. I knew what he was trying to say, but we're picking on him and that's that.

And you, if you're not careful.

Shitface.
