Well done to Okay Magazine for running the obituary in their "Jade Goody official tribute issue".

A prebituary, if you will.

In Loving Memory, indeed. If only she were just a fading memory; a half-recollection of a plump, half-dumb racist with terrible geography and tits that can be seen for fity pee and a pound of grapes. Sadly, or otherwise, she's not dead yet. She will be though. So here we go. 1981-2009, that's bound to cover it. They've even got her 'final words'. Hopefully, in the interests of accuracy, a gagging order is in place to make sure she doesn't come out with any more of her special brand of wisdom. Every cloud has a silver lining, I suppose).

Thoroughly disgusting. They should be ashamed. So should I.

I saw that in the newsagents yesterday too. The "special death commemorative issue" type banner at the top of the magazine... classy. People joke but I reckon *adopts geordie accent* "Day 43 inside the Jade Goody coffin and things are starting to get smelly" on C4 doesn't seem so far fetched now. Goody is taking the term "courting the media" to a whole new level of tawdriness.

It's proper ghoulish really... she's obviously got zero respect for herself or her family. Making money for her kids my arse, she's already more than minted so basically she just wanted the attention in a crass and pathetic way. I chuckled when she said "I've done more with my life in 27 years than most people do in a lifetime".

Errr, what precisely?

Veteran members here get threads dedicated to them every day whether it be weddings, birthdays, gigs etc.

I'm sure she's honoured she's had 3 threads dedicated to her expiry on these forums.

I'm not denying that is a very beneficial outcome; if more women have the smear tests and catch cancer early then that's wonderful both for themselves and their families.

I would just be hesitant to attribute all of that to Goody as an "achievement". She didn't set out with a number one priority of helping other women, she set out to make as much money as possible an expose herself and her kids as much as possible. Basic greed for both money and attention; she can't blame people for seeing it that way but I suspect at this stage she doesn't give a toss. The cancer awareness is a chance by product albeit a very welcome one.

I do feel sorry for her as it's obvious her fame and illness has been deeply manipulated by the people around her (Max Clifford etc) and add to that she's just not very bright in the first place. They're the people who will be gleefully dividing up her estate after she's gone.

It's all very tawdry and cynical... but I'm stating the blindingly obvious.

The year 2000 thats when culture declined significantly. Not only the introduction of reality TV, but an explosion in the use of mobile phones, easily available credit, cheap booze, ridiculous mortgages, chavs, the decline of 'the town centre', 'elf and safety, multiculturalism. The list goes on and on........

It's not like she's the one who's gonna spend it? Or are you suggesting she's just doing it all to keep herself in the public eye.

I can't imagine any mother in her position would behave any differently, given the circumstances. She's lucky she can create a nest-egg for her family, most people living under the same death sentence would be utterly fuct.

The notion of providing for her kids I'm not knocking, of course she would as would any parent in that situation. The difference here is that she's already a multi-millionaire and even if she didn't do what she's doing her kids will enjoy a very affluent lifestyle with the best of everything regardless. We are talking about a woman who courts the press and has appeared on as many reality shows as possible so to completely dismiss that some small part of her is doing this for the attention as well as the cash is a bit rose-tinted.

You've got to admit the level of access she's negotiated with the papers and the rags like Hello is very ghoulish. I don't think noting that allowing a camera crew to follow you around until you inevitably die is a bit much, is it? That could be more of a sign of the times than anything to do with Goody herself.

There is also an argument that she's dragged her kids into the public spotlight to the extent that they will be pursued by paparazzi for the rest of their lives. Some might say this was going to happen anyway but her decisions to allow so much coverage has exacerbated things. Hauling her kids in front of the cameras for Hello! when they're about to lose their mum is ghoulish and at the end of the day, is it really worth it?

All the stuff of she's got cancer and her kids will grow up without a mum is taken as read; it's immensely tragic and I do have sympathy. But criticising the media circus - the majority of which she's actively sought - surrounding this is not a hanging offence...

I think to be fair, nobody would know how they would react when presented with cancer... I don't imagine getting on the blower to OK! would be the first port of call for many though :shrug: not that I'm saying you're saying people would do that. Good point. The afforementioned big-titted burd (Danilelle Lloyd) along with Pramface from S Club 7 came away with some far worse chat during that whole affair. Yet she (big tits) was presenting a documentary on BBC1 last night about abusive relationships. It was Teddy Sherringham she was shagging by the way. Just so's you know.

She's got some show on Living (yes, for my sins, I have watched it) and post-Shilpa Shetty she said she had 160k in the bank. There was no work coming in - obviously - and her outgoings where ridiculous. I forget the figures, but it was 8k pcm or something (fcuk knows what on). She was quite frank about the figures.

Mortgages and car loans Ally. There's plenty of people out there with big houses and fancy motors and the incomings to pay for them. When the hard cash required to service the loans drys up however the whole lot has to go.

The time for criticism of Jade Goody has passed, realistically. She's just being handed around like a piece of meat by the media now.

I think the real debate should be about whether the public actually demands this kind of stuff, or whether the trashy editors create the market as they peddle ever more salacious and intrusive stories.

The fact that a tribute issue has been released early is sickening, but shows just how cut-throat the trade has become.

I reckon most people who buy OK! also buy Hello and the other one anyway so the idea that they should have to compete with one another is just an excuse for bad behaviour.

Nice one for bringing the issue of a tall bird with big tits into the thread though, that's skills
