Goody: Going... Going.... WAIT FOR IT!

And where is the debate about the role of the media in all of this? Not here, even though that was the point of my post.

This morning I read that Jade Goody ignored positive smear test results, despite undergoing treatment to remove a benign growth as a teenager. I've just searched for the article now and can't find it, but have found loads of different tales of the tumour being missed by doctors or of Jade herself being too scared to attend appointments.

It seems like a shame that in all the blanket coverage of her life, much of which has been justified as raising awareness of cancer, this appears only as a footnote.

I would have thought that it went without saying that the death of a young mother was sad beyond belief. My outrage is indeed in the shallow and in my eyes abusive nature of the coverage.

As Martin says, we'll all now move on to the next one and nothing will change. What a shame.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here but she's made out to be this inspiration to cancer sufferers.Has she actually done anything personally to raise awareness,like the likes of Jane Tomlinson,or has she just looked after her own (fair fucks).No offence to her,but she's no deity.
