The first radio show I've listened to in years that's got a 'vibe' about it. Very very funny with a great playlist. He's a real antidote to the usual po-faced anoraks who dominate that station. The show moves to Sat and Sun 7-10AM but what use is that to anyone?

Getting replaced by Lauren Laverne apparently. She is facking awful. :nonono:

yeah, i don't like her either. she's not as bad as fearne cotton, though.

now i come to think about it, i pretty much hate everyone in the whole world.

Nobody is as bad as Fearne Cotton. Listening to any of those morons on Radio 1 really depresses me. Juvenile, vacuous twats catering to what I can only assume must be one of the easiest to please audiences around if they find any of the attempted 'humour' or general content even slightly entertaining.

Spending most weekdays 'on the move' and without DAB radio I am unfortunately only too familiar with their shite. Worst offenders, in order

Fearne Cotton Nihall Scott Mills Reggie 'the whitest black man in broadcasting' Yates

Moyles isn't on the list because I simply refuse to listen to anything he's involved in and so haven't herad his pish since about 1999. Anyway, Shaun Keaveny on 6Music's brekkie show is actually very good also.

I really like Terry Wogan.

He's off soon though, to be replaced by Chris Evans.

There is a middle-ground between the childish shite of Moyles and the granny-patter of Wogan. And BBC 6Music is about as close to that middle ground as you'll get. And as I said, the bloke who does their breakfast show is actually alright. Not as good as Lamb, but pretty decent.

I've never understood how and why it's all of a sudden become acceptable for people under 50 to listen to Radio 2. Just because they play the odd track from 90's-era Blur and they've got a few DJ's who aren't pushing bus-pass age don't make it a good station. The vast majority of it's playlist is still retro bollocks. To the extent that I'd rather put up with the arsehole chat on Radio 1 in the hope of getting at least a few decent tunes than I would listen to Radio 2. Although I did really like Russel Brand's show on Saturday's at 10pm. That was chat based though I s'pose.

I don't want to think in the mornings. Not until I have to, at least. That's what Terry Wogan is for.

give us a "Charlie Murphy". he's got a bit of a slating for not playing enough records, but the ones hes does play are quality, so saturday morning should suit better. Getting Lauren Laverne in is playing-it-safe blandness, which seems counter-intuitive for 6music.

is he related to Dave Lamb, the bloke who does the voiceover for Come Dine With Me?
