Inspired by the tangent developed in the "where do you buy music" thread, I decided to open up a seperate thread for rants, complaints, etc. What's your beef?

Me, I got a few:

  1. "Outsider" conformists - the pink-haired punk-shirt wearing idiots who couldn't possibly be more conformist to a cetain ethic (the dumb-punk-wannabes) if they tried.

  2. "End-of-the-world" preachers - Way to go! Take advantge of the national unease of the past year to predict the 'end of the world'. Admit it, you just want the money that little ole ladies send your way.

  3. The Game Show network - My littl sister is addicted to crappy '70s game shows with Maclean Stevenson and 80s shows like "Win, Lose, Or Draw". They were terrible then, they suck ass now.

  4. Every Hollywood exectutive who green-lights another 60s-tv-show-as-a-movie - What's next, "My Mother the Car-The Motion Picture"?

  5. John Ashcroft - I don't think Orwell meant "1984" to be an instruction manual.

My position is the same as yours on those 'More-Alternative-Than-Thou' people. End-of-the-world preachers? Lets just say we have a local group called 'www.obeygod.com'. They come to every public event with gigantic signs proclaiming scriptures and whatnot that pretty much say everything we do is a horrible sin, and that unless we live like nuns, we are all going to burn in the fiery depths of hell.

Let's see what else can I bitch about...

1: Yuppie soccer-moms who drive around in these gigantic 5000lb wheelchairs. (SUVs) Right, they soooo need a 4-wheel drive monster-truck for their families of 3.

2: Junk email. No, I don't need Viagra. I don't want to see Anna Kornikova getting it on with Bryant Gumble. I don't want a diploma from an unaccredited university based on my life experiences, and I certainly don't need to add 5 extra inches to my genitals.

3: Frat boys who drive around in their pimped-out Honda Civics blasting Creed, Nelly, Nickelback and whatever else. They have the perpetual uniform of cargo-pants, plaid shirt, and a white hat with some kind of witty word like 'cock' or 'ball'. They have these clueless bimbo girlfriends who are oblivious to the fact that he has no real personality, but is 'like soooo totally hot! Fer sure!'

4: Ok, I don't want to get any crap for this one. I'm probably the least homophobic straight person, but if there's one thing that I can't stand, it's those Rich-Bitch Art-Fags and their attached Hags. Those Virginia Slim smoking, black turtleneck wearing, scrawny wannabe poets that think everything they have yet to touch is shit. They're the kind of people who are constantly saying things that sound like "My life is so exciting and wonderful and full of drama and money and sex and shit!!" They are constantly spewing shit about how they are too big for Grand Rapids, and they should be in New York, on Broadway. And of course you always have their Hags who like to think that the local coffee-house is the Epicenter for Culture and Intellectual Thought.

Well that's about all for now.

My main beef is the FACT that the company i worked for has STILL not sacked me.This contract was for two weeks ,maximum of five IF i have to due to the extremely complicated and tiresome laws now with the JOBCENTRE PLUS team.I have played it their way but now i need a rest.I have 8 more days to do then.......no work till EASTER! The second one is why does SHUGZV never actually turn up for any NOOL gatherings he PROPOSES.The little shit:D

  1. Pasties - they used to be about 45pence, now there up to almost a pound ... where is this going to end?

  2. UFO's - with so little sightings recently some UFO groups have had to close their doors. Is this really what we want?

  3. Turkeys - Father Christmas has nothing to do with the consumption of farmyard poultry. As such, why is there any need to kill so many innocent gobblers at Christmas time? - Nut roast is below 3 quid at the moment.

  4. Pringles - Come on lads, you can't rely on Sour Creme and Onion Lite forever!

oh, man, we have so many SUVs here in my town i want to vomit. and these people think that because they drive bigger cars than you that they own the road. i almost got run off the road by one a few weeks ago. he wanted to change into my lane, but i had the GALL to be driving there! and HE honked at me! anyway, i drove on, and as i looked in my rearview mirror, he DID run TWO cars off the road behind me to change into the lane! but they prevailed, and drove around him to pass and come out ahead. now i don't believe in the death penalty, but he should have been strapped into ol' sparky for that one!

and as for anyone who belongs to a frat or sorority...paying money to, and joining, a club in order to make instant friends is SAD, not cool, sunshine. :D

is this becomming another room 101? oh man, this thread would go on for hours...

but just to add my two cents in...

walmart restructuring. that's right. i used to really like shopping at walmart until they decided to renovate it...two floors has been reduced to one floor of a confusing mess. they've extended this branch of walmart, made the first floor huge, where i cannot find anyting, people are constantly in my way, and there's stupid displays in the aisles, getting in the way of my destination. lots of what i need is out of stock and they clerks don't even know when new shipments are comming in.:mad2:

No but it's in the works. I'm thinking George Clooney would be ideal for the Jerry VanDyke part, with Florence Henderson as the voice of the car. Mr. T could be the grumpy old neighbor always snooping around.

The very day I posted this (or a few days later), I was watching Entertainment Tonight where Nichole Kidman was discusssing her next film role: "Bewithced". Yes, that's right, a movie based on "Bewitched". How sad is that?

I shall simply go with the obnoxious fook so busy gabbing into his/her cellular telephone, applying make-up, wanking, or whatever the hell it is that they are doing, that they can't be bothered with using their turn signals...

or are turn signals being phased out of newer vehicles???

How about Wal-Mart in general? Don't know if this happens nationwide, but a friend of mine was hired for Christmas seasonal temp work in Salem, and the company encouraged all of the employees to get together for the holidays with a pot-luck, rather than the company springing for a Christmas bash. Of course the 'suggestion' was not taken into account, and the company wound up springing for one anyway, but it still sounds pretty cheap for a company that big to pinch pennies on its employees at that time of year.

They're also gonna move the last local drive-in in my area out of business soon, to build a super-mega WalMart center. That drive-in does a good business in the summer (the only time it's open), but I guess it doesn't have the same appeal as Wal-Mart $$$$$$$ does.

To borrow the bumper-sticker idea from the sniper thread, one of my fave stickers says Wal-Mart. Always low wages. Always To hell with them, they'll never get another dollar from me or from my family and friends.

Also, that damn SKTRBOI song on the radio by that wannabe punkette Avril.......and I thought that the new Christina A. song DIRTY was bad.........

i stated in another thread that peeing on toilet seats is my number one pet peeve. however, people failing to use their turn signals runs a close second. i'm pleased to find another turn signal enthusiast out there, mr. idiot!

aha but by using the number 17 in your list you cancel out it being a pet peeve as you proved it has to exist. besides, if there was no number 17 there would be no 17 year old girls!

i rest my case.

I just realized how much I hate it when I read recent reviews of New Order, and the idiot writer feels compelled to refer to them as old in someway. Yeah, they're in their forties, big freakin' deal. I don't see bands like Rolling Stones, or U2 getting shit like that.

The Rolling Stones are dinosaurs, to be sure, and the poor bastards should just retire and live on their enormous mounds of filthy cash. U2 are still going strong, and as the Media sees it, they embrace the commercial nature of the business. Compared to the RS, New Order are still in the womb. Compared to U2, they've just got a bit more class (New Order, that is)

Sonic Youth are a little older than New Order, and they are always getting shit about that in the press. Their name begs it a bit I suppose, but still, it is amazing how many articles or reviews include some stupid line about how ironic it is that they're not all that young any more.
