... what main attractions would you suggest him/her to see?
I was wondering this question myself when my parents got back from Greece, what are the main attractions I would send someone see if he/she was coming to Montréal...
It's not easy (would be easy if you're living in London of course) as it seems.
My pick for Montréal would be:
- Olympic Stadium (we're still paying 26 years later)
- 1967 Exposition Site (now Casino, Attaction Park and F1 Grand Prix track)
- Old Montreal (used in so many American movies as New York or Paris)
- Mont Royal (symbol of the city, a mountain downtown.. and origin of the name of the city.. Mont Royal => Montreal)
That's mostly it, I would then suggest to pay a visit to Québec City to see all the old two, and the Citadelle, which is still the historical place to see.
But of course, compared to any other areas in the world, our history starts in 1534 when Jacques Cartier discovered Canada, so our oldest town might just look boring to many people :D
