and actually, Seattle can be a tad bit expensive to fly into...any of the other dates look appealing???

New York City is a hell of a place...but expensive as well...

not too sure about Philly...

and LA just flat out sucks, from my personal experience...

think you lot can get Jarvo over, or does he only do the states for New Order gigs???

that match against Juventus might not be too bad...

 Boy, that'll be a nice summer treat, to be in Seattle to see that match. Rest assured, I will almost certainly be there, seeing as it's just a fairly short drive for me. Should be a great time, hopefully somebody will make it out this way.

Well im serious about going, and i know Shug would be well up for it if the price was right!!

How many other of you guys in the States could make it?

Looks like Green's gonna be there :D

Would love to, but I've been persuaded to blow three weeks hols straight off in Feb to go to Barbados.

After that, time off will be tight (so only gigs at weekends boys, if you're gonna do any more! Oh, and absolutely no gigs in Feb, please. Unless it's in Barbados!).

;)

hmmm...barbados or seattle...such a difficult decision!!!

So...I see you guys are not placing much faith in NO touring again next year. Far less in them having an album ready before the Summer. I am specially worried about Al's attitude being personally sure that Barney calls him beforehand to arrange gig dates

Ok here are the dates for the United part of the tour (Shugzy you will have to check out the Celtic ones as i cant find them on Celtics website!)

Never having been to the states and not having a map to hand, how far apart are these places from each other?

And which of our friends from the States will be up for coming to some/all/any of the games??

July 22nd United-Celtic - Seahawk Stadium in Seattle July 27th United-America - Los Angeles ColiseumJuly 31st United-Juventus - Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey August 3rd United-Barcelona - Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Definitely gonna be going:nod: Have had a few words with a couple of mates at work, hopefully they can sort out a discount fer flying over as their birds work in a travel agent....will be sound meeting up with Green Guy and my favourite mad yanky himself JEFF THE CHEF:thumb: We'll definitely go to the Celtic v Utd game, we'll have to see how much I can save up, and hopefully we could make 2 weeks of it! Can you believe me in America? whoooo fuckin hoooooo:jump: :rolling:

Seattle is BEAUTIFUL in July. You guys must come. The new Seahawk Stadium is quite nice...plus the 81-82ep (vinyl) is sitting in a shop just around the corner. I will definitely be going to this match.

(yes Shug, Geoghagan is IRISH!)

so Brian...does that mean we can bring our sleeping bags and use your floor for sleeping arrangements???

just checked out some flights from Dallas, and Seattle is much cheaper now than it was just a little over a year ago...

so when can we get our tickets???

gotta check with the missus of course but i don't see the harm in a couple folks at the pad. Won't Shug be in quarrantine for 6months though?

That'll be interesting, fer sure! Really hope that as many of you can make it over here as possible, I've got a couple of people over here excited about the match.

Worst part of the whole thing is that since it is at Seahawks Stadium, it just means that Paul Allen, who is the owner of the Seahawks AND Ticketmaster, will make a ton of money off of the whole thing.

At any rate, haven't seen any word of when tix will go on sale, but I've already booked my holiday time next year, so this will be indeed be a treat. Can't wait. :thumb:

 Nice one, I'm sure we'll sort out arrangements closer to the event.

For all the Americans that have sent me their address' (I know that's you Brian, Green Guy, Jeff and a couple of others) I'm putting together a few cassettes (seeing as you's havnae got PAL VHS over there) the Warsaw LP that never was, plus I'll send over Manchester or London from this year, you's will have them just after Christmas peeps:thumb: Cannae wait, I've also just spoken to Liv on the phone, and there's a possibility that she'll be over there at the same time! Could be one hell of a drunken holiday:D

Looks like were gonna be landing in Seattle and then flying to New York, all i know there like loadsa miles apart. Is this an impossible mission?

Anyone round the NewYork area wanna meet up if we make it their?

It's not impossible - it's on the way back to Blighty! Internal flights in the US are reasonably cheap. Johnny G stopped off in Noo Yoik on his way back from the Area:One gigs in 2001.

At least the ManYoo-Celtic love-in will actually be IN Seattle. We arrived in Seattle wondering where the Gorge Ampitheatre was, only to be told it was 150 miles(!!) outta town. Should've looked up a map before we went, I guess?! :eek3:

Cheers fer that Al, but the cheapest way for us is gonna have to be a return flight from Seattle, my plan is as follows, fly out to Seattle on the 20th, a few days there, watch the game, I know that Brian Geoghagan, Green and Jeff The Chef are definitely gonna be meeting up fer a few lagers, then hopefully over to Canada to see our webmasters and whoever else can make it, then onto New York to meet a few onliners there, I have been in touch with Jim Giliberto, and does Tabsy not spring from that neck of the woods? May well have to get masel an American Express card, cos I've got a feeling £300 isnae gonna go far:lol:

Basically, we need to know distances / prices / flying time / do they serve free beer on the planes?

Seattle to Quebec / Seattle to New York Quebec to New York New York to Seattle.

Oh, nearly forgot......who's house are we staying at?

As I'd mentioned before, it looks like the ManU/Celtic match'll start at 8 in the evening, for those who are travelling to Seattle, at least according to one of the local rags. Tickets for the event aren't scheduled to go on sale until March 15. As for now, my plan is to drive up sometime on Monday the 21st, the day before the game, and have a hotel room for a couple of days, but that's all depending on whether or not on who I drag from work to enjoy the game.
