Hopefully this will generate more activity than the first two...
This week's selection is, of course, Iggy Pop's Lust For Life. I'm torn between the title song and "The passenger", myself. What about YOU? ![]()

For some reason I really don't like the concept of 'classic album'. It makes me think of the EN-cyclopedia of RAWK approach to music, Stuard McConie giving me lists of records 'you MUST own'.

I like to think I'm turning that notion on its head with my last two selections (Street Hassle and this one). Pet Sounds was just an opener (though I do genuinely love it).
Looks like its 'the passenger' by a country mile, garnering all three votes.. hehe.
lust for life might be the better song, but every commercial to come out since the trainspotting soundtrack went huge has since ruined any love i have for the track..
the same thing happens with wes anderson movies.. once the sountracks come out the commercials that come out after it will pillage it for everything its got. they used a nico song on the tennenbaums st for a kmart ad for the love of christ. anyways...

.....as does hearing it on the Jim Rome show.

Yeah, well, Jim Rome is increasingly nerveracking in my book. All he does is make the same point numerous times before moving on to the next point, to which he does the same. Give me Tony Bruno any day over Romey! .....as does hearing it on the Jim Rome show.
Voted for Sixteen as I remember Iggy giving an awesome performance of this on the Tube in the 80's.
I voted for Lust For Life, as it's always been a personal favourite.
Hope you've all got New Order's version of The Passenger?
The Passenger is one of the most incredible songs i've ever heard. it definitely takes the cake, although i prefer the live versions i've heard.
Wow The Passenger is a bit popular around here. I voted for it as it is a great song and does ayone remember the programme after The Word called Pasengers that had this as it's theme tune. That was a pretty cool show about offbeat US life :topic:
I can't believe Lust for Life didn't get more votes.... "Here comes Johnny Yen again!"
The quintessential Iggy Pop song.
