Here in Sydney, and in the UK, we have a number of places where the stop light at intersections shows red long enough to allow the squeegee operators to ply their trade[ie.clean your windscreen/windshield with dirty soapy water]. How do you treat such desperate folk?

Theyre the dregs of society, but they can clean the windscreen and Ill give them the contents of the ash tray. Im tight fisted by nature, my mothers jewish and my father`s scottish, the product of two racial stereotypes for the price of one :D

I thought this only happens in Brazil, where poverty is a real issue. 
Here in São Paulo, they sell all sort of stuff on traffic lights like newspapers, sun glasses, mobile chargers, orange juice, mineral water, fruits, candies, toys, football flags and even beard shavers! Sometimes they are just begging for money or in the worst case robbing you. I personally prefer when hookers distribute flyers for a strip club. :D
When the squeegees get close to my car I always ask them to NOT WASH THE WINDSCREEN! If they ignore my request then I give them a coin, as the squeegees usually scratch out your car when they receive nothing.
Never encoutered any yet, but I'd be too modest to yell at them (but smart enough not to give them any money...I hope)

Just about everytime I pass by the local police station at night (getting off work and the like), I like to stick my tongue out at the station. It's childish, but ever since I got stopped (for going all of 45 in a 35-speed zone) I can't really help it. small-town city cops are fucking useless for the most part, they have nothing better to do!
I just trigger the windshield washer thing to show them that their "job" is useless. It could be more usefull if they wash the entire car...inside, outside, simoniz
The saffas have a novel approach, they fit their cars with flame throwers at the sides that incinerate would be squeegee/spongers...a tad harsh, but very effective.
I'd get very annoyed if they tried it on me. I'd probably be more tolerant if could drive and had a car though.
Couldn't agree more. These poor people really get on my tits. Could we not just have the all arressted so as they don't clutter up our highways? Scrounging swines, probably all drug addicts, i blame it on the videos/parents/collapse of christianity........etc etc etc.

Well, as a pedestrian I've often been pestered by glass squeegers. They offer to clean your sunglasses in return for some spare cash. You can't find them in the UK due to the dearth of sunglasses there!

does anyone have a picture of this, only because in the states there is a deflector that keeps 'em clean, or am I missing something
