Great news for US fans of The Jam (all 115 of 'em!)

Just a little bit stunned to find this little dish that is currently on sale, glad to see that there is still some interest in Weller and Co. over here. Only minor drawbacks, it seems, is that their US appearances on the TV shows Fridays and American Bandstand are not on this comprehensive collection.

I've got the UK issue and I don't think AB and Fridays are on it. hmmmm...now I'll haveta check!

weird, 'cause i was just checking out this DVD at best buy the other day...and i was looking at the clash one, as well. i think they were actually cheaper there than on amazon.

i just got a DVD player last week, so it's time to start building my collection. first purchase, of course: 24HPP.

I'm gonna be busy all month trying to get two term papers in before the 11th of next month, but the next time I get to go out for myself I'm gonna hunt that down (and probably not find it and have to order it online).

I saw that a few days back, was having a look at the Finsbury dvd when I saw "Customers who bought this also bought" and I saw the Jam link. Two discs worth of live performances is pretty awesome!

It's a GREAT dvd and worth getting!!!! The only bad thing is that when I watch it I wish I'd lived in England at the time instead of this vacuum called America. I didn't find the Jam until Sept 1980 and I'd lost 3 yrs by then.

Agent Wood: what kind of player did you get? An all-region?

nope, just a region one player, unfortunately. one of the cheaper ones. i'll leave it with my folks when i move out of orlando and perhaps my next will be an all-region one. are they really expensive?

Mine was like $250 (incl shipping) and I got it in 2001. I love it to death. Mine is a Sampo dve-611. It plays PAL, NTSC, mp3, vdc, dvd, cd, etc. Check around and online to see what's out there.

It's a wonderful feeling knowing that if NO, Paul Weller, Pet Shop Boys, Oasis, or anyone else I'm passionate for releases a dvd in England (where they are all bigger than over here), I can get it and play it to death on my all region.

Finally got my copy today, and boy is it great! Since The Jam never came close to here, I love having the Newcastle City Hall gig on disc, and since most of the videos were done before the MTV age here, it's nice to finally see them (okay, they may not be the most brilliant things ever, but I still love 'em anyway).

Also nice to see the So It Goes segment with Tony Wilson and the Electric Circus footage, and the Something Else show that Joy Division was also on, with the sleeve for When You're Young on one side, and the Unknown Pleasures sleeve on the other. Hopefull, New Order will one day have a retrospective DVD done as well as this one.

It was kinda nice in a perverted way that the Jam never took off over here. Except for a few other fans in the Dayton area, I had them all to myself and it was nice not having to share. They were mine and no one else's - I had something no one else had.
