Worst movie experience was when someone brought in "O" - that modern take on Othello - to our Grade 11 English class when we were studying it.

An atrocious bastardization of Shakespeare. Josh Hartnett in the fight scene "Please, stop it!" He didn't understand anything about Iago. Watching it was a traumatic experience.

The only antidote is one of the two best movies ever... 24 Hour Party People or the Brave Little Toaster.

Saw way too many crappy movies when I worked at a cinema, thank God I didn't have to pay to see a lot of that crap. One that sticks out is Monsignor, which features Christopher Reeve as a priest; quite an unbearable flick.

I didn't mind Plan 9 From Outer Space, it was so bad that is was kind of camp, but The Terror Of Tiny Town (an all-midget western flick where the midgets walk under the saloon doors and ride ponys lacked that camp edge.

I usually go to see foreign films these days, but I fell asleep during L'avventura in a cinema class.

I loathe most of the Batman movies, especially the one with Uma Thurman and Jim Carrey (very hard to watch even little segments when it's on TV).

Rude Boy, even though it has some great live performances by the Clash, is another one that makes me blanch.

Sure there'll be more later, but that's right of the top of my head.

Based on the never-popular toy brand featuring a semi-naked warrior called "He-Man", this is the absolute turkey of turkeys. You have Dolph emoting such emotions as constipation and befuddlement while the other cast members (looking for a party at Studio 54, as judged by their clothing) just kinda overact, including the bad guy "Skeletor" (he's supposed to look like he has no skin on his face, but it just lookes like he's wearing a really bad mask), who for some reason wants to rule a far-off mystical land that bears a striking resemblence to Southern Cali. He has to get some sort of magical "key" in order to rule or something.....okay, my memory's a bit hazy, but I do know that it features the single most annoying performance Courtney Cox ever gave (yes, Monica from "Friends" is in this one, it could very well be used as blackmail against her). Oh lord, this is the crappiest of the crap :/puke:

Hey mate, He-man was popular in my house!! Oh, I did love the cartoon...but as far as I can remember, you're quite right about the film being gash.

My own personal nomination, at least for the worst film I've ever paid money to see at the cinema, is Deep Impact. Utter shite.

i nearly forgot about caligula, with malcolm macdowell and produced by penthouse's bob guccione. after about an hour and a half we were giving each other motivational talks to keep one another from walking out of the room. i'm glad mr. macdowell feels comfortable in the nude but, damn. i managed to sit through the whole thing (about 4 hours) and it was one of the most horrifying experiences of my life--i think childbirth will be comparatively easy.

huntsman--the subject of my avatar is mesmerisingly fabulous. long may she reign.

Street Fighter the movie has to be the worst movie I've seen. Can't believe I went to see the movie just because I was a fan of that damn game. I think they spent their whole budget getting Van Damme and didn't have anything left for anything else. Kylie was in it also I think..

i was an extra in van damme's film 'the order' (the israeli casting agency used to come by the place i was staying at and troll for extras). i spent 2 boiling hot days in tel aviv wearing a nun's habit for a scene where he beats the crap out of the bad guy who then shoots charlton heston (who had a nice umbrella to rest under, mind you, under which he continuously dozed off). van damme kept running inside the restaurant we were chilling out in to 'visit the facilities.' in other words, he came out of the loo wiping his nose and sniffling, miraculously 'recharged'...hmmm. anyway, mercifully that scene was close to the beginning of the film, because it was utter shite so i didn't have to sit throught the whole thing when it came on the USA network. of course, i could only be seen for about 1/10 second, and i noticed my black habit only because i knew where i was standing. oh well, at least i got paid and four free meals out of it! had i sat through the film, it may well be on my list of 'worst films i have ever seen.' :o

i was going to be an extra in 'spygame', that brad pitt/ robert redford film, but they cancelled the shoot in israel because of the hostilities. sissies.

No, Nic... the only thing I care about it is the beautiful cinematography, by Janusz Kaminski... the man is a genious... if you saw "The Man Who Wasn't There", you know what I mean.

Hasn't anyone mentioned the Blair Witch Project yet? And then there's just about every George Clooney movie that's out there. Uuuggg. But the thing is I never learn, I always end up seeing them anyways.

I'm seriously tempted to say 'all of them'.

Films always seem to be either unbearably boring (e.g. that black and white famous Italian 50s or 60s 'art' film that I can't remember the title of but was supposed to be really good and arty but was in fact boring, sexist and incomprehensible) or just completely formulaic and insulting to one's intelligence (e.g. anything with Schwarzeneggar or Gibson in it).

I'm hard pressed to think of any movie that wasn't basically crap, including most of the supposedly 'great' ones, e.g. the abysmal, utterly moronic, incomprehensibly over-rated Exorcist, or the utterly stupid and nonsensical Bel de Jour, etc...

The only tolerable films are those that aim squarely for the quality end of 'disposable entertainment' and avoid being either pretentious or totally formulaic, e.g. Spielberg when he's not trying to win Oscars (when he is, e.g. Schindler's list or Colour Purple or Amistead, etc he's actrocious).

Oh, and Dr Strangelove. Actually, I think that's the only good film ever made. Except for being a bit 'boys only'.

has anyone seen zardoz with sean connery?

its not too terrible, but the fact that it has sean connery running around in a diaper beating people up combined with the fact that the movie still finds some way to be ABSOLUTE SHITE just blows my mind..
