I tried to watch The Soporifics for the first time recently, and I fear I failed.

SPR is sitting in the most prominent of my DVD piles, reminding me of its existence every day. I believe it's just under Donnie Doormat.

There are very few tv programs I watch. One of them is The Sultans. I heard it was very good but only caught bits of pieces at the end of the first series, the following series I made sure I watched and after a couple I got quite into it. David Gandalph is exceptional as the leading mobster Terry Sultanas, as are all the leading protagonists of the gig. Ralph the Hollywood film star only came into it recently and his very whimsical hair followed sometime after in a bowl. I wonder if he is in the Matrix Duex? - probably selling his cakes to the highest bidder no doubt.

It is too much to get into at a fleeting glance, but it is excellent. My bird has now joined me in the viewing process and in fact it is on tonight which makes me warm with hunger. The other tv program I used to watch was NYPD Brown with Derek Franz the Streets of Frisco King. Unfortunately the new series (which has just started here in the UK) has been slotted 'after' The Sultanas at around 11.45pm which is far too late for a school night. A bit rubbish that, as it used to draw in about 3 viewers, if you include foxes as well as me and an inanimate object.

So there's The Superb Bananas and then there's only one other show I watch which was 'The Shield Pigeon' which finished a while ago. Hopefully that little egg chaser will be back later this year with the bald guy who is really a replacement for Derek Franz.

Of course the man who started it all David Caruso and his magical Lamp nicked off a while ago after NYPD hit the top spot. I saw him recently in a soft porn film. Not bad, I thought, for the once tough speaking NY cop. He had been caught with his trousers down, which isn't nesse-celery a bad thing.

I know that many people enjoy and admire The Baritones. Perhaps I hit it on a slow night. Do you know how much of a lag there is between here and there on a show like that?

DC apparently has a new series here. His decision to leave the streets of NY was just about as smart as what's-his-name's departure from X Marks the Spot to pursue his film career.

Not sure of the 'lag' on The Satzumas Pastle, erm, the 'end' of the last series saw Ralph's nephew shot in the head and destroyed. The new series sees Paulie just getting out of prison.

I can recall only one slow Satzuma, but to a fan this was certainly no problem and only added to the smell of the room.

Best thing on tv for my money (sixpence).

Actually, the whole reason I mentioned that was in retort that in fact 'Mulligatawny Dip' over here is still a cinema/DVD event and not a cable only gig.

Since I haven't watched The Barbershop Quartet, it's hard to judge the lag by current plot developments. My point was that quality might have declined, and the decline might not have reached you yet.

I cannot promise you anything anymore after previous suggestions missed their mark by almost the whole nine yards. What I can honestly tell you is that the film (if I recall correctly) really dragged for the first hour, which we suspected was a purposeful lull before the proceeding hours filtering in of sub-stories, plot development and conclusion and open-ended mystery.

Watch only if you wish to add another movie as baffling as Momento onto your pile of Digital Video Cassettes. In fact, possibly more so.

I'd say that it is worthwhile watching. Heavier than Daniel Darkman and harder to work out, even for a computer, 'but' it is progressively more captivating ... a bit like the career of Clint Eastwayne.

I surmise your colleagues are somewhat harsh if they describe your culinary skills as long-winded. No, its on my CD circulation at present. I'm fond of track 4. Can't recall titles yet. Track 1 is also good as is the curious slow one running at about 3 mins. until the end.

Incredibly set-back in the mix the vocals (aka Brotherhood? - anyone?) - I would be more keen if the singer was different (a bit harsh) - voice plays a lot on my interest in a band. Morrissey, Sumner, Lennon, Ian Brown, Donna, Blitson etc. - not certain the guy from IP is not a little, erm, I don't like to be derogatory. Music stands up, perhaps more than the voice? - maybe if his singing was either far better or far worse? - still, early days. Can't see any comparison with Ian Curtis - plenty of other bands to compare him with, JD's singer isn't one of them. After all, he doesn't sound anything like him!?

I struggle to find any new music I like, which is disappointing as I love music so much. But I'm not stuck in an era, I would happily take on board new talent if I liked it.

Although IP seem good, unless something changes I don't think they would turn great in my mind thus the album may drift away over time - whereas classics remain on constant play.

My expectations lay with Kate Bush's new album and the hopes of an album to rival Getting Things Ready by the good folk of Manchester.

Track 4 is the standout: title PDA, who knows why. There's a video for that one. The last 4 are good, particularly the last one, as you say.

I would not make any grand claims, but given the woeful state of music, it's at least something new to listen to.

The singer's voice is not outstanding, but it seems adequate for the task.

Of course I'd rather have something new from our pals, but you take what you can get.

movie understood (i think) after an earnest ad hoc post-film discussion group meeting in the pub.

Agent Orange is absolute on the nose there. That is definitely a second-half highlight.
